just get them a good one from Kendama USA
If your child asks you for a Kendama, just get them a good one from Kendama USA. This one stinks and you will end up having to buy another one, and this one won't get used. The string isn't the correct size, the plastic makes it an incorrect weight.

Nice alternative to wood.
Works well, however my complaint is that rubber pieces in the cups can come off some easily.Other than that, the weight is nice and works as a great more durable alternative to wooden Kendamas.

For my son, greatest product
For mother, me, wooden Kendama feels softer, but my 9. y.o. loves this and he chose this. I guess it's a fashion to have A plastic Kendama in school. He has 4 Kendamas, so one needs to be plastic, I guess.

Lightweight but rubber rings are useless
My son has a few wood kendamas from jumbo to extra mini, rubberized, plain and a striped one. He wanted to try this plastic one because he was learning a new trick and thought the "rubber" part that is on the rim of each cup would ele with grip....it doesn't! If you want a lightweight, fun kenaldama this is great and the price is awesome. If you want something more heavy duty I would keep looking!
