My 14 year old is just getting started in leather working. He made a pocket quiver. This leather was the perfect thickness. Easy to work with, and great results.

Not 5-6 oz leather. It's more like 2-3 oz if that very very thin.Edit: The Company has contacted me and are making rite great customer service.

This is more like 3-4 oz if I'm lucky. Far less than what I was expecting for a "blemish free" square of leather. I'll make it work by layering it, but it's nowhere near what they describe. I'd say it's in the craft side of leather. It's got blemishes, a streak of darkness that looks to be something rubbed on it leaving a burnished stain all the way across the face. A couple of dings. One piece looks to be top grain the other looks and feels like the crap from hobby lobby. Is what it is. Live and learn.UPDATEAfter my review the seller contacted me. I may not have been satisfied with what I received but they are working with me and replacing a piece of it. Which is absolutely fine. One piece was nice while the other wasn't quite to the same specs. I appreciate when a company will stand behind a product. That is more important than the product itself. I'm looking forward to hoprfully doing business with them again. Thanks for standing behind your product and name.

I bough the leather to use with flintkapping. Works well and would buy again.

I ordered two 12x24 rolls. One came perfect. No flaws. The other was a mess. Inconsistent thickness and flaws in 40% of the skive side and some blemishes on the face side. I contacted Amazon to return it for a replacement piece. (No problems with that BTW) and the replacement piece came in with one end flawed up in the thickness again... at least the face was clear... I decided to just hang on to this one since I'd likely get one worse if I reordered another replacement. I wish Amazon would just contact the seller when this sort of thing happens in lieu of making you send something back and reorder. That way at least the seller would know why they are getting returns and start paying attention to what they are wrapping up as premium products. If you call something "Grade A" you had darned well be shipping grade A to us... not pawning off subpar grades as grade A. 5 stars for one piece, 2 for another and 3 for the third (replacement). Hence the 3 star score.

I like that I received the product fast, well packaged, and was of the right dimensions.I don't like that the leather is of lesser quality. I've paid the same price, if not less for a piece of higher quality. The blemishes were sanded down. I appreciate the effort, but it looks more like scuff marks. I don't think it was done right; should have left it as is, I like to let the leather shine through it's imperfections. I can work with it. The whole piece is not usable for a big project like a hand bag but since I'm planning on making small items it will work. Won't buy from this seller again. Under other circumstances I would send it back.

I dislike that for the price I paid , that there is a big gouge taken out off the hide & not cut fairly.
