I am the cheapest person alive so price is a big factor for me. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for sometimes. These are much better than the standard 1 inch thickness ones I have been using. Please keep in mind that they are vacuum sealed so they will look pretty flat when you open them. Once they has fluffed up a bit for a few hours you can see how thick and dense the foam is. Usually people use these for a better recording experience by eliminating echoes, however I bought these to block the noise from my husband's man cave. It's a big job, but they are working better than I expected. I like to use spray adhesive to install them since I plan on leaving them up permanently. This set comes with double sided tape squares which is a great option for renters who may need to remove them in the future.

I ordered 24 in black and 48 in gray. I opened the black ones first and was very impressed. When I saw them flat I was a bit worried and thought they'd never recover. I took one to expand via the soak method and one to expand over time. The soak method was more or less instant gratification. It filled out very nicely and didn't stink anymore (the water was yellowish). I put it in the dryer on air fluff to no avail. I then put it on ultra low delicate setting and I had a nice little square. However, when compared to the other, it became clear it shrunk. It must have been about 1cm, but now it wasn't the same size. I decided to NOT use the soak method for the rest (I suggest you don't either) and just set the others out. In 10 minutes they already looked great. They still smelled a bit, but surprisingly Febreeze took care of that. I opened my gray ones and that's where things became clear that this wasn't gonna be an easy purchase. Out of the 48 gray, 25 were deformed in some way. That's more than half. Horribly, completely messed up, not even the same thickness across the board. I gave them three days and there was just no recovering. Amazon has offered to replace 24 of them (1 pack) with the hassle of having to send them back the "expanded" foam at their expense. So wish I could recommend this, but instead it is a bit "buy at your own risk" at least on the gray ones..

The foam panels look just like the picture and the instructions are clear about how to poof them up (because they are flattened and vacuum-packed).But what I was NOT prepared for nor happy with was the HORRENDOUS ODOR that they emitted! Like chemical toxins!!! Very concerning! I don’t know why they have to smell so bad and hopefully they can prevent that in the future by pre-washing it or changing the formula.

"Foam is not dense enough have to really make a huge difference on the acoustics and the peel and stick round patches are difficult to get the backing off of and do not stick very well to foam." - That was my previous review but it is time to revise it, now I am getting spam for the seller asking me to change the review. The above review was generous, the adhesive is crap and useless, the squares are not consistent in shape and nearly impossible to get a straight install. comes vacuum sealed and the density is so low that we used them as packing materials for shipping because the acoustic change that they made to the wall could not be detected even with an RTA. I just hope that they stop emailing me soon. Changing to one star because I can't do a 0

Acoustic panels these were very easy to install I got them for my husband music Room so I wouldn’t have to hear his noise all the way thru the house and he could enjoy his music very nice quality there stuck right to the wall without a problem this is great for a music room

Easy to put up, includes instructions for how to fluff them. The foam panels took about a few hours to inflate and came with adhesive panel for easy installation. I didn't detect any weird smells or odors from them.The adhesive were strong enough to hold the panel up just fine. After installing, I saw a noticeable reduction in echo in the studio. Highly recommend!Good quality: great price, no smell, easy to install and move around.

The panels look alright. But I don’t know if the smell would go away. The plastic smell from the panels is pretty repulsive and I wouldn’t want to put them in a no-window room. Probably will return them and use other method for sound proof.

I followed the directions and allowed the foam squares to sit out for over 24 hours. The squares weren't uniform in depth (back to front of the cone(s)) nor were the cones/spikes all the same depth between the different squares.I've allowed them to sit out for over 24 hours but will report back if they end up expanding and all being uniform in size/appearance. I will edit the review if it improves otherwise I'll be returning.
