This is a vivid Christmas collection featuring some of the very best vocal groups of all time. Debuting on CD (or even LP for that matter) is a wide variety of tracks by the best! The full Christmas album by The Mills Brothers (in stereo) opens the set. Ten dynamic tracks by the fabulous McGuire Sisters are featured. The Ray Charles Singers present an album of traditional hymns and carols. The rare complete album by The Ray Bloch Chorus And Orchestra appears for the first time since the 1950s. Generous samplings by The Ames Brothers, The DeJohn Sisters, The Everly Brothers, The Crew Cuts, The Lennon Sisters and The Browns are included. This set will entertain for many Christmases to come!

Jasmine records ... keeping the Christmas spirit alive!
Another fantastic Jasmine records release of rare recordings. This is the 3rd 2CD set I've purchased from Jasmine and they do a nice job selecting artists for each release that feel at home together. Most of the recordings are from the 40's to 60's and have been nicely remastered without that overblown db level that plagues a lot of studio releases. I am looking forward to their annual announcement of September Christmas themed CD releases!

Vocal harmonies of the '50s
A very interesting assortment of Christmas music. Brings the '50s era into your home. I have only one disappointment. The beautiful 1956 album, "Here We Come A-Caroling" by the Ray Charles Singers, which has some great acapella singing, does not present the songs in the same order as on the original album, after which this CD is named. One song not on the original album is added and my favourite song, 'Rise Up, Shepherds, An' Foller' is conspicuously missing. This CD is for listeners who like vocal harmonies to be the emphasis.
