Q: can this fit on flat aero bars? Mine are not round but wide flat bars.

Great question! The regular bar mount that is pictured will not work on flat aero bars. One of the other customers, who so kindly sent a video is using the helmet mount on their flat gooseneck, may be an option to look into, however, the grip may not be as strong as rubber on metal (ie bar mount). We suggest looking into K-edge or Bar Fly brand mounts for aero bars that offer GoPro adaptability as this Vis Pro 1000 Trail comes with a GoPro Mount! Hope that helps!

Q: Can this physically be mounted upside down on bottom of the handlebar and any functionality issues? (My handlebar is limited in space).

Even used as a flashlight you certainly can hold it upright as well as upside down, You can mount it upside down on the handlebars of the bicycle.

Q: This light gets awfully hot while in use. Is this normal?? Noticed the very first use. I've never had this happen before.

I'm sorry to hear that! These lights do produce a lot of heat, which is why Light & Motion does not recommend them to be used as hand-held lights. Lights will also be warmer if you are not moving for some time. The airflow from riding your bike keeps the light cooled down so it isn't unusual for the light to feel warmer or cooler based on the weather and how fast or slow you are riding.
