This works for uses other than a shoe cabinet.
I've been looking for 6 months for a stand for an older 32" flat panel tv. This seemed the right choice, though it didn't occur to me at first to look at shoe cabinets. But this one is perfect as it is 13" deep to fit into my smaller guest room. The shelves of the cabinet hold an amplified antenna and smaller Blu-ray player. The distance between the shelves can store Blu-ray discs upright. The old tv concerned me in that it is 35 pounds. So far the cabinet appears to be stable enough to handle the weight adequately. The cabinet comes with two anti-tip restraint kits, which I will install if that proves to be a problem. Keep in mind the cabinet will arrive in two boxes, which may not both arrive the same day.Assembling the unit was pretty straight forward with printed wordless diagrams. Some things didn't make sense to me, but I vowed to understand each step before screwing anything together. The small black door stops needed the holes drilled to a slightly larger size to be pounded gently with a hammer into the underside of the top. One end of the door stop is rounded for no apparent reason, they work fine when installed either way around. When installing the side walls to the base, if the holes are 'way too big for the long wood screws, turn the side walls end for end. All the finished edges should be face up. The plastic feet really needed small pilot holes, so I drilled them in the underside of the base, being careful not to drill too deep. When installing the back board, I wished that I had edged it with black or dark brown marker, because the light brown of the board will otherwise be visible from the sides and top. Touching that up afterward was fussy work. I did remember to drill 1-1/2" holes in the back board where I needed cords and wires to to exit for player, antenna, and power strip. I decided when I had the doors on, I was too tired to patiently adjust the door hinges to fit just right. Even starting fresh the next morning, it was no easy task. But I got through it, and it's a really sharp looking cabinet. I like that the doors are designed with 3/4" air gaps between all the slats, I would assume to air out potentially stinky shoes...that also helps to keep the minimal electronics I put inside cooler. All in all, I would buy another product from this manufacturer. It's on par with Ikea.

very good product !
I did a lot of research and finally I decided to buy this item. It's not made of hardwood, but for a shoe cabinet, that's no big deal. It's so easy to assemble, it's actually a lot of fun to assemble it. It can hold a lot of shoes and I can finally get rid of my old shoe rack. After closing the cabinet door, you won't see all the shoes at the entrance, it looks so much better! It is also the perfect size for my house and I can put my bag on it and I am very happy with my purchase.

Excellent Value
Very nice unit! Sturdy for a self assembly unit, and a great value!

Nice size, nice transitional piece of furniture for shoes. The review is for the product , not the assembly.
This product didn't come with any instructions, so look it up on the internet. Also the dowel holes are oversized, so I assembled it with some wooden shavings or matchsticks so the dowels don't slide into the holes too far. Some of the pieces aren't labeled correctly either, but there was enough to assemble it, sans two small screws for the hinges, which I had extra from another project. The doors were perfectly aligned upon assembly, but you will need a helper to hold the door up as you attach it. It's really a nice piece and the design is great for shoes; ventilation, a good number of shelves, and a great height for adding decorative products. Large shoes do need to be turned sideways, but we still haven't run out of room yet in it. I might have taken the time to paint the feet prior to assembly, it's a bit of an odd color, plastic silver? Good piece, good price, somewhat hard assembly. Households with children may want to strap the product to the wall or put heavy objects on the bottom shelves since it is a taller piece.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT
I was hoping from reading some of the positive reviews that it would cancel out the negative reviews and so I took a chance and bought this cabinet. This cabinet is not sturdy, and the wood has a very cheap feel to it. In addition, our product was uneven at the bottom and therefore it was very wobbly, we had to insert cardboard to balance out the product. The doors were also not of the same size, ( we placed the doors on top of each other to make sure) and therefore looked uneven when closed. We had the option of breaking down the product and returning to amazon for a full refund, OR keep this ugly, unstable product with a small discount. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND MONEY AND DO NOT BUY THIS CABINET.
