Good printer
We bought an HP printer that broke just after the warrantee expired. Since it was going to cost at least $100 for support and HP technical support is NONEXISTENT, my friend recommended Brother. This printer was easy to set up and works like a charm. All new printers push you to enroll in their ink subscription but Brother is more reasonable than HP. Overall we are very pleased with this printer.

Beware -- toner and customer service issues
I purchased this printer five months ago; it's probably the fourth or fifth Brother printer I've owned. Now, Brother has introduced a new "feature" I hadn't encountered on previous models in the MFC series -- the printer won't reliably print from non-Brother-manufactured replacement cartridges.I replaced the original toner cartridge with a reasonably priced replacement bought on Amazon. It worked for a while. Then, abruptly, it stopped working -- the machine insisted there was no toner cartridge inserted. I tried using another (new) cartridge, which did not work. I consulted the online owner's manual, to no avail. I tried the fixes and work-arounds suggested on YouTube. I wasted time and effort. Finally, I contacted Brother support online, and left a detailed report and message in writing. While Brother acknowledged my message, I received no call-back.After three days, I called Brother. Brother's service rep informed me that the printer would only reliably work with a Brother-manufactured toner cartridge. I said that this was not clear from the product materials, and that Brother should inform customers that the product will only work with its own toner cartridges; I asked for a discount due to my trouble and waste of time and effort and money (purchase of non-Brother cartridge, which are useless in this machine) occasioned by Brother's failing to make this clear. Although the service rep was polite, he could not help -- Brother refused.Having no choice, I purchased a Brother-manufactured cartridge. It is much more expensive than the non-Brother replacements.Buyer beware!

A no nonsense excellent printer and scanner
This printer does exactly what I need it to do with zero issues. I could not rate Tech Support as a subcategory for my rating because I haven’t had any issues requiring it.

Always the best
I would just say one ting about it I didn't like Its hard to understand the directions for faxing therefore I need better directions. But that has always been an issue with Brother. Otherwise a good buy.

Product is fine. Requiring additional review verbiage here is not.

No tech support
So, I thought I would follow the stars and purchase this printer. My computer would not recognize the printer with the wi fi. I am using windows 11 on a new computer which 'brother' says is compatible on their website. So, the worst thing is zero customer/ tech support. This problem was never resolved. All they have is a web sight with tutorials that are no help. There is no one to email. No phone # to talk to a human. Directions out of the box are okay I guess. In the end nothing worked so I sent it back. If I was charging for my time to set this up, This machine cost more to trouble shoot and send back than what I paid for it. Expensive boat anchor!

A good printer, but not as good a value as older models
Our office had switched over to Brother laser all-in-one printers back in 2017 because we didn't really need colour inkjet printers and were sick of paying high ink cartridge prices for small page yields. Thanks to discounts from Prime Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Boxing Day, we were able to get 5 Brother laser printers with different features for between $90 and $140. Since all 5 printers used the same toner and cartridge, that made ordering replacements easy, and I quickly found out I could get aftermarket toners for $12 and drums for $22 off Amazon, which is a fantastic deal that saved us over $1000 over the past 3 years. However, after almost 45,000 pages, my printer, the mostly heavily used in the office, broke and I could not fix it. I ordered this new Brother laser all-in-one to replace it, however I'm not as impressed as I was with my first printer. -This printer cost $270, since there were no discounts during Black Friday, Cyber Monday or Boxing day (likely due to demand for printers thanks to all the people working from home due to covid).-The printer took almost two weeks to be delivered, due to a lack of stock, again thanks to covid-This printer uses a different toner/drum than all the other printers in our office. These toner cartridges have a chip in them that the printer checks for so it can nag you about buying expensive genuine Brother toner. That means I have to buy more expensive aftermarket toners with the chip (~$18 each) and we now have to stock two different toners and drums-This printer's fax ringer is very loud, even in its quietest setting. I had to silence all sounds from the unit due to the noise it created in the office.-The factory toner cartridge only printed ~900 pages, which is less than half of what I normally get from the old aftermarket toners I used in the printer that broke. For $270, this printer should have come with a high yield toner cartridge.-The cover for the scanner bed will only stay propped open if it is open fully. Since my printer has a hutch over it, I can not open the cover fully, and therefore the lid keeps trying to close on my hands while changing documents. My previous Brother printer was able to hold the cover open even when only partially opened.I wish Brother had kept the same printer we used to have in production, or at least kept the same toner/drum on the new units. This is a good printer and a strong value with aftermarket toners, just not as good a value as our old unit.

My Girlfriend found it very easy to set up
Bought for my GIRLFRIEND. I was a bit worried because some of these items can be hard to set up. Especially wireless. She had it up and running in short order. Duplex works great and she printed from iPhone and laptop through wireless connection
