Perfect fix for Wii U Game pad WiFi problems
We'd reached the point where our kids literally had to sit only inches from the TV in order for the Gamepad to not lose connectivity with the Wii U. I read online that this was a well-documented problem with early Wii U units, and that the fix was to replace the WiFi board inside the Gamepad. This product did the trick perfectly. Took less than ten minutes to remove the stickers covering the screws on the Gamepad, remove the screws and open it up, replace the board, close the Gamepad back up again, and resync it with the Wii U. Problem 100% solved, my kids can be over 15ft away from the WIi U now, no problems at all.Make sure you also buy yourself a triwing screwdriver as well, you can get one for less than $5 on Amazon (they'll have a description saying something like "for Nintendo Wii repair"), because the screws Nintendo uses won't fit a standard screwdriver. There are videos on YouTube covering how to replace the board, so be sure to take a look at those before beginning this repair.

Error 165-3000 -- NO MORE!
My WiiU Gamepad was throwing up the error: 165-3000. I asked the Google what to do, and did all the steps to try to sync the Gamepad to the Console. Nothing worked. My wife called Nintendo Tech Support:Wife: The thing doesn't workNintendo: Try these things to fix the thingWife: Doing the things, thing still doesn't workNintendo: Warranty expired. Require $99 to fix it - oh and, you might not get your special Legend of Zelda gamepad back in return.Wife: But can I just have my husband take it apart and fix the thing?Nintendo: No. Will void warranty.Wife: But I...Nintendo: $99So I took it apart and identified the wireless card. It's the one with the antennae attached to it. Read the part number, poked around, and found this little guy on amazon for $13. Heck yeah! So I had it shipped in two days. It litterally took me 5 seconds to replace it, about a minute to replace all the screws, and turn it on. I ran through the gamepad sync process again, and BAM, works like a charm. There are videos on YouTube on how to disassemble the pad and replace this card as well.Hmm here's a link: (not my video) [...]But I'll tell you how to replace it here since it's so easy.1. Remove battery cover (x2 tiny phillips screws on the back) - then remove battery (just slides out of the socket)2. Gently pry off the little, square sticker (screw covers) to reveal the tri-head screws for taking the pad apart. This will require a special tri-head screwdriver which can be found on Amazon for like 5 bucks. (I already had one from a MacBook fixing escapade before)3. Gently pry the back cover off the pad (really easy - no clips or anything)4. Carefully unplug the little cable which connects the back of the gamepad to the main gamepad mother board - Then set the back aside.5. Top left corner - you'll see the Wifi Chipset. Gently pull that off the motherboard. Leave the two antenea attached for now.6. Gently pull ONE of the antennea off and attach it to the same place on the NEW chipset.7. NOW do the other one. (this way you can keep track of which color wire goes where.)8. Now just do step 5 - 1 in reverse order.9. Turn on your WiiU Console and Gamepad.10. On the Console, press the little red sync once for regular controllers, then a second time for Gamepad Sync.11. Press and hold the sync button on the back of the Gamepad until the sync screen comes up.12. Match the shapes, and you're done!Too easy! It worked for me, I hope you get similar results!

Fixed my Wii U gamepad!
Just as the title says - This cured my Wii U gamepad. I was an early adopter when the Wii U came out, and juuuust after the warranty ended I started getting the bad connection issue with the gamepad. I actually stopped playing my Wii U as much because I was sick of having to sit on the floor with the gampad pointed in a very particular direction, and having to pause quickly if one of the dogs decided to stand in my way (often).I replaced the chip in the gamepad with this one, and I can now roam freely around the entire first floor of our house and maintain my connection! I can even go upstairs (though it does get a little spotty in some areas). I am thrilled to have my game system back!

Works to fix wii u gamepad connection problems.
It took me months to figure out what was wrong with my wii u gamepad. It would not connect unless it was a foot from the wii u console. Finally I found out this is the faulty part and thankfully I was able to purchase the part here on Amazon for a really good price. I thought I was buying a new part, but received a used one. It works for now and only time will tell how it holds up.

Worth it!
Wii U barely worked now for about a year. Tried everything from moving closer to changing wifi so it wouldn't interfere. Changed out this card and it worked like new! Easy to change, too.

Works but not new
The chip works fine, we are happy it took care of the problem but it definitely was not new as marked in the amazon description and on the package I received. It looks like it was removed from another device.
