Pentel AX119C Cometz Mechanical Pencil, HB #2, .9mm, Blue (Pack of 12)

I buy these for my students. My classroom is green, blue, and brown, their binders are green, blue, and brown, so guess what - each class either gets green, blue, or brown pencils (I know I have a problem, LOL). Truthfully, though, I buy them so students don't have to get up every second to use the pencil sharpener - any teacher will know what I'm talking about. The lead is sturdier than the cheap .5 lead, so it is great for writing. I also love that I can buy replacement erasers, so students can easily replace it once it is worn down - a must for middle school students.

Love these pencils! Very smooth when writing and erases great without streaking. Will be buying again.

There is probably little I can add to the reviews that hasn't already been hashed and rehashed, so I will simply say that out of all mechanical pencils I have purchased during my life (including high end drafting ones), outside of the lack of an elegant housing and replaceable erasers found in higher end pencils, there is nothing to be gained by spending more money.This pencil is nearly perfect in function... it performs consistently, the leads never jam or snap off, the grip is comfortable, the pencil is well balanced in one's hand, and the eraser does not destroy your paper nor harden over time.I hope Pentel will continue to offer this same pencil for a very long time to come, or I may find myself hoarding a stash of the product!

I bought 2 different sets of mechanical pencils at the same time for roughly the same price and these are far better than the others. The OTHER set has lead that breaks constantly even though it’s a well known brand, the same size and says “durable” on the packaging. You cant write one whole line before the lead breaks and then there are little pieces of broken lead all over my counter by the time I’m finished with anything. It’s crazy… and super annoying.But these are durable and rarely break at all. They write smoothly and feel good to hold. I’ll buy more of these to have on hand for sure!! Love these!!

These pencils are easy to use and have a "sturdy" pencil size. Good buy for the money

I used to put 10 wood pencils on my girls backpacks and no sharpener so they don't waste time at school sharpening. But this year the wood pencils are BAD the lead just fall, we tried automatic pencils and their lead broke off easily so they didn't work either. I saw the 0.9 mm pencils at a local store but man they're EXPENSIVE ... so I start looking in Amazon and decide to give this set an opportunity . They come prefilled with 3 leads so that is really good. I put 2 pencils in my gilrs case and some wood pencil ... when girls came from school their first words were: "mom, these pencils are amazing I only use 1 all day!!" ... so there I went to refill them and to my surprise it still have 2 leads in the barrel. I can't say enough of how happy we're with these pencils ... only think that worry me is that to load it we need to remove the eraser, my girls use a separete eraser but sometimes forget or lost it and had to use the one in the pencil, hopefully they will not use it beyond the point it will be difficult to remove. I did bought extra erasers just in case :-)

Best mechanical pencil I have used. Nice thick leaded and sturdy. A little shorter and stouter than a regular pencil barrel. Writes great on paper. Has an eraser and clip to hold on to a document.
