Good Intro to creating tub ponds
I wasn't too sure if this book would be what I wanted. I really like what I had seen at Pond stores but knew I wasn't going to be able to create a huge pond. This is perfect since it allowed me to create a nice scape on a small scale.

WORTH A READ!
Last year I had one small tub outside as a test. I loved it so much I now have 10 going. I'm already into aquarium fish and plants and this is the best way to breed and raise fish while decorating the yard! The book really helped me set up tubs in proper locations and select plants for each one. I would have made labor intensive mistakes having to move tubs and repot plants. It's different than aquarium plant growth and properly potting and fertilizing everything is thoroughly explained.I don't understand how the book can't have helpful information for other countries or climates as the book talks about different microclimates in any situation. The only difference would be what marginal plants might be locally available. But NJ isn't that dramatically different than England on the hemisphere. So I have lots of fry now and I'm so excited. The critter section is useful to protect fish and tubs from raccoons and I learned how to leave an exit ramp for chipmunks. The author is well versed and definitely humorous in his experiences.I shall keep photo documentation and notes on what works best for me as I learn and experiment. Thanks Dr. Ted!

There's nothing like summer tub season!
I've been summer tubbing for about 5 years now. This book is THE authority on how to do it right. I love how the fish thrive outside and also the variety of water lilies and other plants. I cannot recommend the book enough!

Comprehensive & readable guide
I've had small inground and above ground (stock tank) ponds in the past, and now live in a place where I might be able to have a small patio pond. This book is a perfect guide. I'm not interested in fish but I appreciate that he covers fish for those interested. I'm considering buying a couple more copies to give to friends who have expressed interest in small ponds. I also like that he writes with occasional humor.

Great Book. Soup to nuts about tub ponds.
I read this book and immediately bought a 29 gallon tub. I got some plants that were recommended in the book and added some of my aquarium fish. I couldn't be happier with the results. As things grow out I'll probably reread the book and start another tub. I could never have had such success without a good reference like this book.Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience Dr. Coletti.

USA only
The book is dominated by references to American climates and zones with no mention of the rest of the world. Also the kindle edition has photos missing, sections repeated and incomplete formatting of layout.Rather annoying considering the cost.
