Q: Will this charge an iPhone 11, obviously not using the mag safe magnetic connection just by placing the phone on top?

Yes, you could charge an iPhone 11. However, since this item is designed for iPhone 12 series phones. For better charging experience, we suggest our customers using this battery to charge iPhone 12 series phones.

Q: Would this charge an iPhone XR?

Yes and no. It is a normal QI charger, so you should be able to charge the phone wirelesly. But there is no magsafe magnet in the phone, so it will not stick to the back of an iphone XR by default.
