This is a great instrument. As with almost any guitar/bass of the factory floor, it needs a setup to ensure peak performance. But it plays great and sounds great. 5 way switch provides quite a bit of tonal versatility as wel.

Delivery was good. Was sent out pretty quickly. Packaging was good and no shipping damage occurred.Things you should be prepared for are the usual things. It will need set up. Action was fairly high, so new strings if you use a different guage. Truss rod adjustments, saddle adjustments and possibly intonation tweaks.The neck on the one I received had a small rough spot that I needed to do a very light bit of sanding to smooth and then it was perfectly fine.It's pretty heavy as many 5 strings are but I did not find it any more difficult to support than my 4 strings.The look is gorgeous in my opinion and paint and fretwork are very good.Not ideal for slap bass, but that depends on your skill level as well, I would only note that the neck pickup can get in the way a bit if you slap alot. Otherwise, the pickups sound quite good and having the additional sounds that two pickups give you makes this a versatile bass.With a decent compressor and eq, this has so many sound options and a lot of punch.Money well spent I think.

Perfectly satisfied! Excellent guitar! Great sound and feel. Intonation is great, only a slight tweak upon arrival. I have a $2k Ernie Ball Sting Ray V and several American Fender basses and the Sterling sounds beautifully close compared to the EB and Fenders.

I was impressed by the good build and the way it was setup on arrival.

I'm so glad I got the model with double Humbuckers. Cost just a little bit more, and you have the original Stingray tones, plus a few more options, to suit whether you're slapping, or jamming out, fingerstyle. Giggity, Giggity!
