This is on my granddaughters Christmas list so, should be a winner

Magnificent writing. Enthralling imaginative fairy tale type story whose cover grabbed me at the library. Of all the books available this one screamed out at me. I hadn't read a book in some time. This one grabbed my attention through the mystery and fantasy of the story. I got through it and looked forward to the read every night. I loved the story and the bond formed between the dragon and girl. Well, needless to say the library book went back late as I suspect I hated to give it up. So, for now, I bought the Kindle Edition but I will be back to get my very own hardback. I believe this story is suitable for adults. Lol. Also, I am glad there is such a quality fantasy tale in the world, much needed in today's times and very very hard to find.

I enjoyed the concepts presented in the book. I loved the setting being during the world wars and will use this book to start conversations around issues of racism and genocide.

This is such a wonderful book. The story explains how magic works and has many details on what's going on. Very easy to read and imagine. The kind of book you can't put down.

A story of a young girl who gains the ability to do magic and the has to decided what is more important her fun or to right an ancient wrong. The intent of the rules for magic in this story bring the whole story together. However I intensely disliked them. The concept of magic as a subtractive element just goes against the grain. In the end there would be no magic which of course is exactly what is happening in this story.
