If you already have BRAIDING SWEETGRASS, don't bother to get this, as it's just an excerpt from that same book (3 chapters). But in case you'd like, for you or someone else, a short introduction to the author's work, then this little book is a great way to start, since it lays down the foundations of her sensitivity and philosophy. Beautiful edition as well.

A Little Book that Let‘s You See the World differently
If you’re feeling down from climate anxiety, biodiversity loss or the pandemic, this small book really picks you up without playing down the mess we are in. It shows the first steps of a path into nature & the environment that’s neither esoteric hogwash nor simply a poetic form of talking about science. And it’s a great introduction to Kimmerers bigger books about the mosses and sweet grasses.

Really powerful writer
An excerpt from some of her other books. The chapter included in this book, the animacy of language from "braiding sweetgrass" changed the way I see the world. Everyone should read this.
