I really tried to sell this to our 4 year old!
Most folks are huge Marvel fans, and of course I jumped at the chance to check out this Stan Lee bio and engage it with our 4 year old - but it seems it is just a bit out of her range and/or didn't contain enough of his superhero characters to reel her in. I'm a fan of this biography series in general and this book follows a similar formula - 8 chapters, 60 pages, a 10 question multiple choice quiz at the end, plus a glossary and bibliography. As mentioned, it doesn't really delve too in-depth into Stan's specific creations, it focuses specifically on Stan himself - his upbringing and childhood, career and personal life, and then a general description of how his movies were successful, first with Hulk and Blade, then X-Men and on up the chain. I'm not complaining, it is a biography after all. Just know what you're getting into.

A young reader’s book that introduces kids to the life of Stan Lee
Building our library at home for,our homeschool has been great with all the new biographies geared towards kids aged 6 to 9 now available on Amazon. This story covers the life of one of,our favorites, Stan Lee. It helps kids learn that Stan started out as a comic book writer and artist; before he became famous for the Marvel, movies. It actually starts out explaining that he was an imaginative boy who spent hours reading all sorts of different stories which inspired him to come up all his creative characters and stories. The book focuses on the five W’s: Who, What, Where, When, Why. Showing kids how to write a biography by reading about someone they already know a little about. Two freaky helpful features in this series are the short, quick chapters which makes it easy for, younger readers to stay interested. And a detailed visual timeline that show major milestonesThere’s even a quick quiz at the end that tests their knowledge. A great book to help kids become interested in biographies.

STAN!!!
Our three kids LOVE the Marvel Universe. We have been watching both the movies and TV shows in timeline order and whenever my kids are able to spot Stan Lee, they all yell, "STAN!!!" Given their interest, I thought this book might be a good way for the kids to learn more about the man behind Marvel. As expected, this is a biography so if you are looking for a book that focuses on his creations, this is not that book. Instead it talks about where he was born, early life, and how he came to write comics all the way to his movies and legacy. Like other books in this series there is a glossary and quiz at the back of the book.Overall my kids were really excited initially but when they realized it was a biography they were less excited. But we went through it and talked about how he worked his way up and now when they see him on the screen and they are done yelling, "STAN!!!" they occasionally mentioned something from the book that we discussed. The Story of Stan Lee: A Biography Book for New Readers

Awesome book for Marvel fans :)
We are a Marvel fan household, so I got this book for my 1st grader and he enjoyed the read! I sat down and read it afterwards, it took me about 35 mins to finish it, taking my time to look at the pictures and all. It's very simplistic but does tell his bio. Vocabulary is easy for kids to understand. There's a glossary at the end with some words that were in bold through the pages, which may or may not be difficult for the young reader, depending on their reading level. Considering that it's a chapter book, it has plenty of imagery (maybe a little too much) and talks about his personal life as well as his creative trajectory and his legacy.I found it quite interesting and inspiring to learn about such a brilliant mind like Stan Lee's!100% Recommended!!

A Genuine Biography for Young Readers
This is about the life of Stan Lee with a genuine focus on him. The emphasis is not on his creations, but on the man who was creative. If you know someone young who loves comic books or aspires to write them some days, this would be a great way to show how simply and humbly Stan Lee started out. I actually gave it to my wife (40) before passing along to a nephew as I'd intended. She loves Marvel Movies, and she says that she enjoyed learning the simple history of the man. The authors did a great job of laying out succinct details at an easy reading level. The quizes and comprehension checks at the end are also well crafted and interesting. Overall, I'm kind'a impressed. If you have someone young who wants to know about the Stan Lee (the man), I recommend this as a gft.

Interesting inspiring read!
The Story of Stan Lee: A Biography Book for New Readers. This children’s book tells the inspiring story of comic book icon Stan Lee. HIs real name, his early life, family life, how he became a writer and editor, his career choices, the many challenges he overcame, and how he continued to work until he died. The book is an interesting and inspiring read! I read it together with my 8 year old and we enjoyed it! My son recognized Stan Lee from some of the Marvel movies he watched and my son likes comics so he was drawn to this book. The book was a at a good reading level for my son. It has child friendly language, is in large format, there are colorful pictures and colorful visual timelines, and a glossary and mini quiz at the end. Great book, recommend!

Even as a 40 yr old adult, I enjoyed this book
To be honest, when I saw this book, I jumped on it without even looking at the age recommendation. This book is way too advanced for our 21 month old (even as a bed time story), but I enjoyed reading it. This book is a biography about Stan Lee, highlighting his childhood and career. While it does touch on the comics that made him famous, it is not a book about these comics. I can see this book being engaging for older children since it also has other tidbits in it (myths vs facts, timelines, and even the quizzes are fun). Overall, a solid book that we will be hanging onto for a while until our daughter is old enough to read it.
