Purr-fect for Cat Tree Scratching Posts
I recently "rescued" my friend's cat as she had welcomed a new puppy into her family and he threw the critter dynamic off in her household. The sweet kitty came with some accoutrements including this wreck of a cat tree. I had initially ordered one 100 ft spool of the 1/4 inch. Yeah, my calculations were off so, I ordered another spool of the same. I used some small metal tacks hammered in for the ends and kept the rope as taunt as possible while using a hot glue gun to keep it in place. I think it turned out rather well. Now, my l'il house panther needs to be brave and start exploring her new home and not hiding under a bed. We'll get there. As for the rope, it is of great quality and was easy to work with. I mean, as easy as sisal rope can be as it wasn't too stiff or too hairy that it "sheds" constantly. Oh and this rope isn't oiled or coated with anything that could harm your pets or self. A truly natural product. Pro-Tip: Wear work gloves when working with this rope since it' is "natural" and can be "prickly" to sensitive skin.I ordered from this company as it is based in the USA (Mooreville, NC) and is veteran-owned, I believe. They also had a high overall customer rating, too. I will DEFINITELY order from them again.UPDATE: My l’il house panther has become the bravest and happiest of all the house panthers! She loves her “new & improved” perch and uses the scratching posts every day. I remain very satisfied with this purchase.

Good rope
Great option for indoor use. Many natural fiber products can have a strong chemical smell due to pesticides and/or oils used to protect them. I am sensitive to this odor plus I don't care to have pesticide laden products in my house. I don't want my animals exposed to this either and this rope was used to make a cat scratch post. I know that it is a natural product and they have to kill any insects so it can be transported. Some odor is expected. This rope has the least odor I've ever encountered. So, very minimal odor. Each strand of the 3 that make up the rope is very uniform and smooth. No junk or stray fibers poking out to cut you.

The perfect rope at the perfect price
We used the rope for our deck railings and it is perfect. The price beat all others for the quality, thickness and color. The delivery was also much faster than we expected. We are very pleased with the end product.

Exactly what I was looking for.
I finally found a sisal that I felt comfortable with using to re-wrap the scratching posts on our cat trees. Im not sure why, but if you look through reviews of sisal rope, many people complain of not feeling comfortable using the sisal they purchased for their pets, or for making crafts or furniture because it has a strong chemical smell similar to gasoline or kerosene! I experienced this too with other brands! I couldn't find any good quality sisal rope at nearby stores that didn't wreak of chemicals! Not only did SGT Knots rope NOT stink of chemicals, it has a strong natural sisal smell that our cats were immediately attracted to! Our one cat came over and stuck her head right in the bag hole right after I opened it, so she could check it out lol. Mind you, the smell isn't overbearing. Its not going to make your house smell like sisal, but rather is has a strong scent when you sniff it up close. The previous sisal that I replaced didn't really have a smell at all that I could detect. This could work really well if you're trying to train a cat to scratch on the post instead of on your furniture! We had this issue with one kitty whom is very picky about what surfaces he likes to scratch on, and he immediately went for the cat tree after wrapping it in this rope and he hasn't scratched on anything else since then!I'd also like to mention that the rope seems to be of fairly high quality and is twisted very professionally. Other ropes Ive seen have had alot more loose, brittle strands than this stuff!

Only product I trust for my parrots!
I have no idea why there are some poor reviews. This is in no way treated! I included a pic of “untreated” twine from Walmart. As you can clearly see the top image is much, much darker from the oils they used on it. The bottom bulk pic is the SGT. It is very natural. I use it for all my bird toys. I also buy the SGT twine which I will also review. The only drawback to this twine is because it is chemical free, it doesn’t hold knots very well. I combat this by wetting it a little. Another drawback is if you have soft skin wear gloves, as it has some sharp little buggers on it and gives me blisters. Small price to pay when you have a cockatoo that can shred a wooden block in 2 minutes. This is durable and he has problems getting through the quarter inch. In fact, even the thin twine stands up to him for a little while if I double it. All and all, this is a great value, durable product, all natural, and is the ONLY product I will trust for my birds which are not only my heart, the are also my pocketbook as well.

Repairs cat trees and posts
I use this stuff to repair my cat trees after my savage cats destroy them. Way cheaper than getting a new post or tree every couple months.
