Bought a new straw hat and left it on my dash in the heat while I was on vacation. Came home and the hat no longer fit. Ordered this hat stretcher and it fits better than it did before.

This is a decent, solid wood, budget friendly choice if you want a basic oval stretcher for med/large hats. I personally have a more rounded head and this did help, but it doesn't stretch side to side. If you want one to maintain the shape? This is a nice, solid choice.

This is a very easy to use hat stretcher. My wife sells hats and of course we wear lots of hats. This allows you to incrementally adjust the size of all variety of hats. The key is too you steam and be patient. Combine this with a few sweatbands and you can fit anyone.

Solid wood. Real metal. Works great. I'm in between a 7 n 71/8 hat size. So this gives me exactly what I need.

I didn't know this contraption existed. I purchased a few Boston Scally flat caps and the style of caps didn't fit the same. Some too big, which was corrected by a seamstress but the too tight hat couldn't be exchanged for a larger cap . Boston Scally replied to my e-mail and suggested the hat stretcher. By golly it worked. I also used it on my welding caps because they shrunk from the washings. Worked again. I like the draw string bag it came with which hangs on my cap rack.

I bought this hat stretcher because I ordered a custom made Army patrol cap and for some odd reason it was too tight. The hat size was correct, but once the name tape and rank were sewn on; it decreased the width circumference. I couldn’t return my hat because it was customized. So I ordered this hat stretcher in hopes that it will stretch it enough where it fits my head. I like that the stretcher is made from oak wood and that the tie rod is metal not plastic. It looks like something that will last for years. It comes with a nice velvet pouch and instructions. I highly recommend this product to stretch your hat instead of buying a new one.

Erst einmal ist zu sagen, dass der Hutspanner dafür dass er aus den Vereinigten Staaten kommt sehr schnell angekommen ist.Nämlich eine Woche eher als angekündigt, ausgezeichnet.Das Teil selbst ist einsame Spitze, einfach unschlagbar.Auch wenn einem der Preis von 35 € für ein wenig Holz und etwas Metall zum Auseinanderziehen einer Kopfbedeckung sehr teuer vorkommt, dieses Gerät ist jeden „Penny“ wert.Ich habe einige Caps, die für meinen Kopf zu klein bzw. zu eng waren.Dabei habe ich verschiedene Methoden ausprobiert sie zu weiten, nichts half.Mit dem „Chlive Hat Stretcher“ klappt es hervorragend.Zuerst habe ich sie in der Breite geweitet, wobei ich die Hutränder komplett nass gemacht habe.Das ist absolut kein Problem, weil die Spanhölzer aus massivem Vollholz sind und somit keine Gefahr besteht, dass sie sich verformen.Also Holz in der Breite rein (siehe Foto) und auseinanderziehen, dann wie angesagt etwa 24 Stunden warten.Das Ergebnis war recht gut, aber noch nicht perfekt.Danach habe ich den Vorgang noch einmal in der Länge wiederholt (siehe Foto), jetzt passen mir die Kopfbedeckungen wie „angegossen“, ich bin einfach nur „happy“.Beim Weiten sollte man aber mit Überlegung und Vorsicht vorgehen.Meine Caps waren sehr eng, sodass ich gleich mit „Power“ rangehen konnte.Ist die zu bearbeitende Kopfbedeckung nur ein klein wenig zu eng und man weitet gleich zu stark, dann verschwindet im Anschluss die „Rübe“ womöglich komplett unter der Mütze.Dann den Hut wieder zurück zu verengen dürfte wohl etwas schwierig werden, wenn nicht sogar unmöglich sein.Als lieber vorsichtig rangehen und später noch einmal nachweiten, als gleich zuviel auf einmal.Hält man sich daran, hat man mit dem Gerät unendliche Freude.

Der einzige Spanner, den ich im Internet gefunden habe, der auch für Größe 63 gut geeignet ist und nicht wackelt.

Der Hutspanner macht einen hochwertigen Eindruck und funktioniert wie er soll.Mehr fällt mir dazu nicht ein.
