Learn the quick release knot instead
Does this product work? Yes. Is it faster or better than a quick release? No. It’s not difficult to use, but if you do it backwards you will think your horse is secured when it is not (which happened to me twice). Depending on the horse this could be a real problem. You have to put the lead rope through the plastic circle and then put it through whatever you are tying too. If you put it through what you are tying to first, then the slightest pressure will pull it right out. Make sure you pull in it before walking away. Another issue I have is the release. It has a small tab you have to pull to release it. If your horse is standing calmly, it works fine. If I needed to do it quickly on a horse that was acting up or in distress, I don’t think it would be easy. It’s also plastic versus a 1200 pound horse. I’m not sure it would even hold up. The other issues is you have to go get it in order to use it. For me I find the quick release knot to be much more effective and safe. I can tie it in 5 seconds and don’t have to go get it out of my tack stuff. You immediately know if your knot is not secure. I also prefer to have the quicker release. I know there are lots of helpful things for pets, but this one just takes longer and is less reliable for me.

Actually works well even with the Donkey
This is made of plastic and frankly, I expected it to snap with a hard pull from the Donkey or me throwing all my weight on it. Nope. It not only held, it was super easy to undo it and get my leaf rope out. The whole piece fits in my pommel bag so I can take one on long trail rides and keep the second unit at the barn. My stallion stands quietly ground tied 99 times out of 100, but this offers a little extra insurance out in the back country. I'm pretty impressed actually.
