Survived the Ultimate Road Test and More
These have exceeded my expectations in every way. I have them on the outside of my truck to add holiday flair to my commute. They're bright, tough, hold a charge, and most importantly look great. They have held up to rain, snow, ice, wind, interstate high speed driving, and being out in the sun. It charges up fast and can last all night if left out in the sun all day. The multi functions are a nice touch. I love that these lights turn themselves on and off based on how much light it detects! I've destroyed more lights than I can count by putting them on my truck but these have not only handled the drive but have thrived!! I can't recommend them enough.

Runs beautifully all night, but with a mind of their own
I got two strands of the lights very quickly, and used them to decorate a young tree in my front yard for Christmas. It was easy to put together the solar battery stake, and it was off to the races. Even with the limited amount of sunlight on gloomy or even snowy days the units collected enough light for the strands to operate all night long.So why the three stars, you might ask? These units are advertised as being able to run in multiple modes -- steady light, twinkling in different modes, etc. by pushing a button on the bottom of the battery unit. The problem is that the directions included in the box are very cryptic about how to operate this feature, and no matter what I do with the button, the strands are operating in some sort of random twinkling pattern when I want them to shine steadily. I guess I could grow accustomed to the twinkling pattern IF the two strands were using the same twinkling pattern, but they're not, and I can't get them to. It's rather frustrating.Bottom line is that they shine quite beautifully all night long until the morning light gets strong enough to kick them off as the little box goes into light storage mode again, but they shine all night with a mind of their own again my wishes for how they do it. We've already nicknamed them "Frankenlights".

Lasting me 2 years and counting. Just beautiful!
I love how the solar power works brilliantly to automatically charge while being switched off during the daytime and switched on when it gets dark out. It's a treat when I get back home, late after work, to my beautifully lit room. And love that it is powered by sunlight; that makes me feel lighter. It is long enough for my small room, to make a beautiful cloud pattern across the wall, and kind of as a frame to my bed. I'm absolutely thankful I came across this product. It's made my life an extra bit brighter:)

54% off because they are factory rejects???
The white color of these lights are pure white and they are beautiful. They seem to be ruggedly constructed and were easy to install; and they suck because they are broken. There are 8 "modes" to select from and, until you select a specific mode, they are in a demo mode that cycles through each of those 8 modes. Once you pick your mode, the will stay on that mode - until they are turned off and turned back on again. Then, they start out in demo mode. This means that you will have to reset your mode every night when the sun goes down if, like I, you are trying for a specific effect. From what I've read in the reviews, not everyone has had this issue. When I contacted the seller via Amazon, the response was "I'm so sorry to tell you we don't have a way to solve the issue" with a link to some of their other lights that only have a single mode. I suspect they can't solve the problem because they are marking down garbage that a manufacturer threw out because it failed quality control. Now, I have 144 feet of this crap to take down and ship back.Amazon needs to start policing its vendors more. Within the span of a week, this is the second bad experience I've had with solar string lights from two different vendors. The folks that are starting to sell out here remind me of the folks at swap meets and flea markets that sell inexpensive garbage. They make their money by selling bulk and are hoping the sale was of so little cost that the consumer will just throw it away.

My wife and I love these lights
My wife and I love these lights. We set them up to randomly hang at different lengths from a pergola. At night they look like twinkling stars, even though they don't truly "twinkle" - it's more of a set pattern that it goes through - but it's still pretty cool. There are different settings (I believe about five in all) to choose from. We had a ice storm come through recently, and the lights were covered in a 1/4 inch of ice for about three days - but still worked perfectly. And, they are solar powered! Really impressed...

Nice lights, with some caveats
These are nice lights and work as advertised. We live in New England and the sun is low in the sky in December and we probably only get about 8 hours of direct sunlight on these every night, but that has been enough to keep these lit all night, every night. There are some caveats as a result of the solar nature of these lights, combined with the length an number of bulbs.First, these are tiny bulbs. They do project evenly over a wide angle, but they aren't particularly bright. They are bright enough to be easily seen from some distance at night, but even with two strings on one leaf bare bush, they don't cast much light on the ground.Second, the built in battery cannot provide full brightness in all modes. If you want all the lights on steadily, you only get half brightness. If you want steady light at full brightness, that mode only lights half the lights, (every other bulb). The best compromise seems to be to select a blinking/twinkling/cascading mode.Third, while you can switch the lights off, switching them on only activates the ambient light sensor. There is no power mode that forces the lights to light in a lit environment. There is also no timer mode. The light sensor works great for us as the solar panels/light sensor point away from our house and any street lights. We can turn our porch lights on with out these lights switching off. Others might have issues.Note: if you have trouble with these, make sure to try the different modes. I've seen negative reviews that clearly resulted from people not understanding the mode button.
