The Inn at Holiday Bay: Note in the Nutcracker

... comes to light as Abby and Lacy search for some background on a six foot tall, antique nutcracker Lacy bought as a gift for Abby.Mylie, one of the guests, finds a letter to Santa inside the nutcracker with a list of things that "Pamela" would like to do with her parents. Mylie decides to carry out as many of them as she can while she's staying at the Inn.When Pamela is tracked down the reality of her Christmas that year is rather tragic as her mother was murdered on Christmas Eve and her father was convicted of the crime despite pleading his innocence.Now aged 69, with an empty nest and widowed, Pamela wants to try and prove he's not guilty and clear his name and, of course, Abby's the person she asks.Writing lacks the right sort of details to draw the reader in so it's a bit flat and the very unrealistic perfect lives where everything always works out idyllically a little boring and predictable.

I waited sometime to purchase this book and so glad I did. I just loved the festive seasonal picture on the cover but the story was good.

I really did enjoy this book I found it very hard to put down, love the way Kathie Daley writes and the mystery dropped into the story of so much Christmas cheat going on around these people. It made you want to be there. The story is full of interest has a real gentle feel good factor to it. The mystery is not gory so enjoyable and interesting too see how it played out. Oh I will be reading all of her books now.

Great book can’t wait for the next book

An easy, heart warming story for a cold winters day. I find myself wanting to spend Christmas at the Inn art Holiday Bay.

Book 7 sees Christmas come to The Inn, Lacy buys Abby a giant nutcracker for the Inn, and in its mouth, one of the guests finds a Christmas list, written long ago.The guests visiting for Christmas decide to fulfil the wish list, which becomes more than Abby and Lacy realise when they find the author of the list and realise the story behind it.I loved this book, in fact all the books in this series are good, but this one was a really lovely read. I'm really looking forward to the next one in the series, so much so I've joined Kindle Unlimited as I want to read all the books!

This one is set at Christmas time which doesn't stop having a mystery to be solvedWhile this was a good & enjoyable read I don'tthink it was as good as some of the othersI do feel that it was left a little bit in the air with Mylia & her looking for a husband I would have question the one who said to go thereAll that said I enjoyed reading the book just not as much as previous ones

Most enjoyable, more relationship development and new characters some of whom look like becoming part of the regular cast. Perfect cosy mystery
