Like many guys, when I cook I just go right at it. When I use a pan without a padded handle, I just grab it and afterward realize the heat goes up the handle. Burnt hands and fingers do not make for a pleasant dining experience! I put these on pans before I fire-up the stove top and they have saved the "fun" of burned fingers.Plus, I drop them into the dishwasher when needed to be cleaned. Before getting this product I used to have to get repetitive third degree burns to numb my hands and build scar tissue in order to handle my cast iron skillets. Safe to pick up pan when hot. The handle cover is really too big for my pan handles. Pan twists around handle sometimes especially if draining liquid from the pan.
