🌌 Conquer the elements, or be conquered!
Lost Planet 3 for Xbox 360 takes players back to the harsh world of E.D.N. III, where they must navigate extreme weather and hostile creatures while utilizing a versatile utility rig. With a blend of first-person and third-person gameplay, this title offers a visually stunning experience powered by Unreal Engine 3.

A Bright Spot In An Otherwise Crappy Series
I read other reviews of this game that compared it - at least loosely - to the Dead Space titles. While there are a few similarities, DS is hands down a superior title in every way. That being said, LP3 is still a solid game. It's better than Extreme Condition and well, I won't even compare it to the utter trash that LP2 is. LP3 is pretty nice graphically, it has a decent storyline with good voice acting, and the controls are well mapped. Fast travel is available, which is absolutely necessary since your "rig" is frustratingly slow. I found the most fun I had with this game was on foot, outside of the rig. As previously stated, the rig is very slow and has a lack of useful weaponry. Why take away the guns? You'll encounter a couple of mini "boss" fights that you have to battle in your rig that are downright agitating because you must time your claw right in oder to grab a large akrid and hit it with your drill. While you can upgrade the rig with certain options like heavier armor, it's still a weak point of the game. Take too much damage while in the rig, and your forced to jump out of it for some reason (you can get back in after a short cool-down period). I just really think the game could've been so much better if the whole rig experience had been improved.Aside from the annoying rig, the rest of the game is pretty fun. There are a couple of large boss battles that can be a little frustrating and seemingly long an drawn-out, but for the most part killing akrid is pretty enjoyable. The main character is also well done - he is voiced well and has a pretty likeable personality. At about a $40.00 price point, I'd say this game is well worth the money if you're into sci-fi shooter/adventure games. LP3 is so much better and done so differently than the first two installments, that you can't really use LP1&2 as a gauge as to whether or not you'd like LP3. I almost think Capcom would have been better off releasing LP3 as a new title.

A Good Surprise
I heard about this game on a GWJ's podcast, it was entirely off my radar to play and I can recommend it. Good story, great pacing that moved along nicely, excellent voice acting, interesting environments and solid combat. The boss fights were good challenges, once you got the gist of how to beat them. An enjoyable adventure, likable NPC's with interesting background stories and I felt that much thought was given to the plot. I was charmed and really cared about the character by the end of it, and so pleased I found the game. I've not played any other Lost Planet games, but I suspect this one might be the gem of the three - it's a solid 3rd person shooter and though at some spots the camera angle was janky, it never detracted from my overall enjoyment. I hope Spark Unlimited stick to this formula, I had a heck of a good ride in the rig exploring. I do a lot of gaming and never write up reviews, but felt this game deserved a mention. Update: It may be a little too heavy on story for some, after reading other reviews here. Personally, I enjoy that.

rushed ending
lost planet 3 came in prestige condition but the game itself is good until a strange message telling you about NEVEC which I felt made sense but people may think it was rushed' but I loved the game and it met all my expectations

4/5
was really fun at first but after a while having to constantly kill everything got repetative and boring, especially the boss fights. the boss fights could be stupidly hard if you are even a split second late on a combo and at times i had to fight the same boss multiple times because i kept dying as it gave no indication on how to even hurt it, as for the graphics they are really well done and same with voice acting, storyline kept me wanting to know more as the game progressed

Proximity and Aiming are hurting a great game...
Just started playing 3 with high hopes - Must say games 1 & 2 were two of the best shooters I've ever played - so here are some cons I'm running into: 1. A lot of story at the beginning, I just wanted to start playing. 2. Proximity and Aiming: Like Bioshock, I feel like everything is way too close, I can barely turn around without something being there to the side or behind me. Games 1 & 2 had a wider scope that made you aware of your surroundings, with a more open feel which made playability and targeting better. 3. Gauges: I can't tell where my life or ammo is! Maybe it's early, but you walk through energy after a kill and I don't see anything filling up? Status was clear in earlier games. 4. Darkness: The graphics are great, but bugs just kind of blend into the background (and again are too close, too quickly). Will update after playing some more. 2 1/2 stars.

Good game
I like the game, but it feels like it should have been the first in the series and some of the controls are a bit clumsy but its a joy to play

fairly good
Its not the most interesting game, but I like the storyline. Its just not as good as the past lost planets. It could have been better. The graphics and playability are pretty good its just that its not very open ended in what paths or events you can choose and I finished the game very quickly.
