A YEAR AT THE CHATEAU (TV TIE-IN)

Well written & entertaining, though a little expensive. the book is much better read after watching the TV series where you see the challenges and solutions to the many difficulties of renovating an old french mansion to become a glorious place for a wedding or other celebration.

Based on the experiences of the British couple who rehabbed a forgotten chateau in France, "A Year at the Chateau" takes you from the first glance at what would become a much loved 'forever home' to the middle of frantic renovations. Real life struggles with this enormous project are told from the wife's and husband's perspective. Anyone who has seen the series on PBS can hear Angel's and Dick's voices as they chronicle their separate experiences. If you enjoy Peter Maile's "A Year in Provence", you will adore this first book in a 3-book series.
