Sharp but the eye isn’t 1”. I suspect it’s made in China and everything is metric. The eye is 0.95”. It’s more of an annoyance since I wanted to use a 1” dowel for a handle

Worked great on dry and green wood even scrub oak though that was a bit tougher, the beveled scotch eye makes dowels fine as described, just recognize this is hand labor tool, so i mean if it's not working then it's probably because you're not working hard enough lol

Really neat tool. Opens up all kinds of options for crafting while camping. The drill and the eye both come super sharp. I love that the eye can be used to make a peg that fits into the hole it drills. Lots fun for passing time while camping or even for building some legit structures.I have been using this tool for a couple months now, it doesn't come in a bag or anything and a highly recommended one for it. I made a waxed canvas pouch for mine after it arrived and it keeps it nice and dry and sharp.

The tip needs to be redesigned,it can not drive the drill bit into the wood,I have to push hard to insert drill bit in, not just spin it. It almost is like a garbage, but better than nothing.

The tapered end for making pegs was heavily damaged but not beyond repair. Not that i expected much from a cheap tool but it will need repaired before service

It works as it should and is a handy piece of my bushcraft kit. But it needed sharpening and it was dented in the scotch eye and that was a pain to sharpen, thus the 4 stars, because if you need this tool, you know you will need to fine tune and maintenance.

The SOFT STEEL bit was only edge sharpened, and only at the bottom edge. Because it was never (or incorrectly) heat treated, the metal does not stay sharp. The starter screw part was machined improperly and does not bore into the wood. The handle "taper" was rough, not sharp and there was virtually no taper at all.CHEAP GARBAGE.... I gave it to a friend to sanmai forge into an knife blade...
