500Gb works well in Dell Latitude E7240 and Linux Mint 19.2
Just a little bit about me. Long time Linux user, even beta tester for Lubuntu, some years ago. I typically purchase a refurbished laptop with Windoze 7 installed on it and install a linux distro like Ubuntu or Linux Mint on the same drive and dual boot both. While I don’t particularly like Windoze there are a few programs that I use that are only ported for that OS.. So, I have to keep a live version of Windoze and will probably have to move to Windoze 10 soon.Anyway, this write up is not about me, but the recently purchased Dogfish SSD 500GB disk. The disk is listed in Prime which makes delivery a couple days and it did arrive on time. So far, I have cloned it once with my exist boot ssd and there was an issue on the boot ssd so the cloning was not completed. I reformatted the Dogfish and decided to Bench Test it for kicks before doing anything else with the drive. Here are my actual bench tests today with the Dogfish installed in the mSata bus on my Dell Latitude E7240. I have not decided if I am going to clone my existing booting ssd to the new Dogfish or just use it as a media storage drive.Disk or Device: 500 GB Disk — DOGFISH SSD 500GB [S0712B0] (/dev/sdb)Sample Size: 10.0 MiB (10,485,760 bytes)Average Read Rate: 528.8 MB/s (100 samples)Average Write Rate: 456.7 MB/s (100 samples)Average Access Time: 0.08 msec (1000 samples)People those are really good results, and I will be buying more Dogfish drives for sure. Best bang for the buck I have found in mSata SSD drives. Picture with blue screwdriver pointing to the 500GB Dogfish. Screenshot of the Bench Test results.Update: 10/24/19 Okay, I went on and did install Windoz 10 on the new drive and it is very quick. Now I can boot from the Linux Mint or the Windoz. Cool

Manufacturer doesn't seem to want to honor warranty. Impossible to get warranty claim for DOA drive.
I've bought 3 Dogfish msata drives in the last 6 months. 2 are working fine, but the 3rd was DOA. Unfortunately, I didn't actually open and install the DOA unit until a few weeks outside of Amazon's return window. It took me about 2 hours of searching just to find the "support" website, and after several days of 24hour delayed back-and-forth emails that refuse to give me details on getting an RMA I'm getting the sense that getting any kind of "support" is pointless.

Works well for me, but some may want something a bit speedier...
Bought this for a Thinkpad x220 hackintosh project. Had no issues formatting or using the drive whatsoever. Despite the brand name being completely unheard of, it's really a decent buy given what it is. Any comparable PCIe/NVMe drive by a bigger manufacturer would likely cost twice as much. I'd definitely recommend it if you are looking to give a speed boost to any laptop or computer that has supports this kind of drive, but do keep your expectations in check. Some SSD benchmarks I've run show speeds that are good but that won't blow anyone's hair back anytime soon.

Ssd dead after a week
Product worked fine for windows 8.1 I cloned hdd to ssd. Worked fine till today. I stalling windows 10 x64 pro it restarted and got stuck on hp logo. Tried many things to get it to work. so I just removed the ssd, installed old hdd and it worked just fine. Then turned off PC installed ssd with hdd and stays at the hp logo. Turned off PC removed ssd and then hdd began to boot. Cleared bios, tried to boot off usb but as soon as it goes into boot menu it gets stuck. So this sad is bad. Should have read the bad reviews first. Everyone has the exact same problems. Always read the bad reviews first because if they all have the same problem different symptoms it's a bad item.

Buyer Beware...
BEWARE!!! I was super excited about getting a SSD for my gaming rig. All was good for about two or three weeks. Then the drive locked (wouldn’t allow me to save files or delete items from the drive, believe me...I tried everything) and when I contacted the vendor to get a replacement he said I needed to buy a new one and send him my old drive.First off, I’m not sending a drive that has the license information of my OS, and all software installed to some random person. Secondly, due to a factory defect the drive locked and is garbage. Don’t buy these if you value your personal information.

I have had good luck using a few of these Dogfish SSDs until the last one that I received...
I have bought three 256GB and one 1TB Msata SSDs in the recent past. They have worked as well as I had expected until the last 256GB Msata SSD that I bought. I acquired that one in March and it is now last May. What is the problem? I have two identical NUC type CPUs. They are about three years old and both have been working fine. I install that problem SSD in one of them, installed Fedora-36 Linux and ran the CPU in a network for awhile. I started seeing that the CPU would be found to be frozen after a few days of continuous running. When I monitored the system more closely, I found that the system might freeze in just a few hours or within no more than a day. I thought old CPU, defective CPU. I than installed the SSD in the identical second CPU and ran it for awhile. It would freeze in the same fashion as the first CPU. Was the second CPU defective as well? I did not think so. Replaced this 256GB Msata SSD with a 1TB Msata SDD in this second CPU, also made by Dogfish, installed Fedora-36 Linux and the problem has not reoccurred so far in three days. My suspicion is that the 256GB Msata SSD is faulty. It is probably too late to return and replace this SSD and I have long since thrown out the packaging in which it came. A lesson learned here is to always test new media hardware when you receive it. Try to run some read and write tests on the drive and you may be able to filter out and return drives that may cause you problems.

works on my Lenovo T420
The media could not be loaded. I like it because it works like it should. I have not given the full test since it's been installed for 2 days,It boots real fast, according to my video the first 1 was HD that came with laptop, took 1:20 seconds to boot to login screen. 2nd video after the 1:20 was the SSD installed and that took under 20 seconds. Both these videos were filmed with new OS installed. Now we wait for the long period so how long this will last. It going to be used for web development.

Performance is good for SATA (not NVMe), but origin of the drive is questionable (see review).
When I received the drive, it appeared as a blank drive, no partitions etc, but I discovered that it actually had a complete windows 8.1 pro installation on it, which was bootable, once I re-created the partitions... it had obviously not been used, there were no user files to speak of, and the drive reported under 1 hour of power on time, but there was a benchmark output file for the serial number of my drive from "HD Tune Pro"... which appeared to have been run from a network profile. The drive has less than 1 hour of power on time, and works well so I will not be returning it (though I should), but it is clearly not a "brand new" item and I wonder if it is salvaged from a batch of unused "pre-built" corporate desktop machines that were not sold. I would love to know the actual origin of this drive!

For me arrived on time, and appears to work well.
I used it to replace TECLAST SSD in my laptop.Need to format it, insert it in external housing (i used Eluteng USB3-ngff(M2) ) clone old HD (EaseUS Todo Backup Free 8.2) takes a while then replace original drive you may need to create a your own partition.Speed as expected 554 MB/s, and appears to run no hotter than original disk.So far very happy, excellent value, time will tell regarding reliability/life.

Buen producto y relacion precio/beneficio
Lo compre basicamente para ponerselo a una rasberry Pi ya que las memorias SD se dañan de manera frecuente y pues me salio a un precio razonable. funciona de maravilla en el adaptador USB que le compre pienso comprar un par mas.
