I Left My Sneakers in Dimension X: Rod Allbright and the Galactic Patrol

Bruce Coville is a great kids/YA writer.This series is extremely imaginative and will suit any child who appreciate the finer things in life, like seas of macaroni and tiny, lemon shaped martial artists.The characters are impressively deep, the settings are sometimes on the brink of comprehension (that's a good thing), the story is timeless, and the over-all theme would please even the most puritanical dictator. This would make a great gift for any budding sci-fi addict.

I read this book when I was 8 years old, almost two decades ago. It blew my mind--it's fun, clever, and full of really awesome sci-fi. I bought it for my 9 year old and he loves it. The end.

Great book series.
