Just bought this a couple weeks ago for tying up leaders for this upcoming winter steelhead season. So far I really like it. In the beginning it's kind of difficult to follow how to secure the leaders in correctly (I know it comes with directions) and not have it come unraveling apart . Watched a couple youtubes and figured out what I was doing wrong. First, tie up all your leaders to start, then, cut them all to the same finished length then firmly feed all the leaders around the pegs in either a figure 8 or a pattern you're comfortable with, but keep the pressure on them, this will keep the hooks from falling it. And then push them down till you touch the back side of the box and then hold them there with 1 hand or finger. Then put the stretchy bands over the pegs in a pattern that covers the leaders and press down so that they touch the leaders and keep them secure. And then that's it, close the box and now you have the leaders secured. As for the reviews saying your leaders get tangled when you remove them? I'm not sure what they're doing wrong. I've tested it at least a dozen times with just 5 leaders or with 20 leaders and I have no tangles removing leaders. This totally beats using a foam roll. I'm not a drift guy, I just use these leaders for beads and it's so much easier to use. and doesn't create a huge mess in your back pack. I don't know about you but how many times do you open your pack and a leader has come lose unwinding another one or by getting tossed around in your bag. It's annoying. Trust me, this feels like a night and day difference. I love saving money by buying the foam noodles at the dollar store, but this is well worth the investment. I'll see how this winter steelhead season goes and update my review as needed. Tight lines!

unlike the other leader holders where you crank/spin it to wind up the leaders this doesn't have any mechanism inside it so there is nothing to brake or ware out, also it holds them in good and when you pull one out they all stay in good. easy to use

After using it on the creek I’m cold temperatures it proves to be perfect. Takes a little to get used to the wrapping, but after you learn how it’s awesome

I've probably had the most frustrating morning I've had in a long time trying to thread these leaders in place, and then use the worthless stretch bands to hold them in place! It doesn't work!!!!! After many tries, it went into the trash can!

Great concept but the only thing I don’t like is not being able to put the leaders back in if you want to swap out. If I am going from a bead rig to a worm rig, I keep my bead rig to use again. I can not do this with this holder. Also, not sure why but the pictures worm rigs are backwards.

Once loaded it works however it’s so hard to load as the hooks pop out all over the place while trying to load it. It took longer to load then worth the time would rather just make the leaders as I need themOh and one thing to note is as this unit is square it kinks the line so now your leader isn’t nice and straight defeating the purpose
