Accurate dimensions are provided. However, you might be thinking 'hatbox' & one cannot definitively tell from the photos. So, if you are storing, protecting, a round hat, use the small dimension for the boxes.

Purchased for the patterns but did not notice how small they would be. Still love the patterns and decided to keep

Black/white butterfly storage boxes
Glad I read reviews before buying, so I did expect them to be oval, though they do look round in the product photo. Very pretty to look at, I love them. I will be using for storage of small items.

Pretty boxes, but I wish they had been round. I didn't realize they were oval shaped. But I kept them anyway.

Pretty storage boxes.
The boxes are very pretty and make storage look nicer but if you need regular access to what you keep in them you will have a hard time getting the lids off and on. They aren't a perfect fit and for the price they should be. I'm using the ones I bought for things I don't need too frequently. I enjoy the prettiness they provide on my shelves.
