Bought for the tread pattern for ice
I did some research before purchasing these and found the tread pattern on these and the taller version of this boot to be one of the highest rated this year for ice. I'm getting older so it's very important to me to have something on my feet in the winter that aren't slippery. These fit the bill. Also, they are super comfortable and true to size.

Waterproof?!?! Nope
I was very excited to get the boots as I work outside. The 1st time I wore them last week it drizzled it was fine. This week we had full on rain and the tops of my feet were wet inside the shoe. The price of the boots I would have thought they say waterproof then they would be.

Lightweight, comfortable - price is low right now for Columbia!
These Columbia Woman’s Ice Maiden Shorty snow boots are lightweight, comfortable, and easy to walk in without pinching or binding—the toebox is not too narrow or too wide so they fit well. I have a size 7 so I can be sure to have room for warm socks.I have a pair of Columbia snow boots I’ve had for at least 9 years and they’ve been the best snow/ice boots I’ve ever owned. They’ve held up beautifully over the years and are still in good shape, other than the tread on the bottom is wearing thin because I’ve worn them so much hiking in the woods in the winter or just walking my Cove or even around town. They were expensive but worth every penny. But, the toebox is wide and my foot inside has slipped around a little in them, so I appreciate the fit of these Ice Maidens. These Columbia’s are priced lower than my old favorite Columbias. Likely due to the materials? I’m not sure why they are priced, at this time, at under $60, but for that price, snap them up. Columbias will last you for years and wear incredibly well. The only boot that exceeds Columbia’s quality are my Vasque hiking boots, which are also pricey but worth it.The materials on these Ice Maiden boots are mixed—suede, leather, and some kind of fabric. The fur isn’t all on the inside, like my other Columbia boots, but just around the top—this is good for when you want to wear them in slightly warmer temps, but note that the fur is really for looks only as it won’t add any real warmth. These boots are waterproof.Overall I’m pleased. These will be a lightweight boot for walking in the snow or through creeks in fall/winter. As it is still summer when I write this review, I’ll have to wait for First Snow to see how they do and if I have any problems slipping or whatever, I’ll come back to report here.

These are great
Love how lightweight these are! Perfectly waterproof... just trekked through several rainy days in Europe and no leaks. And they're cute! My feet need a lot of arch support and usually need wide fit... that's what could be improved I suppose. I do not regret this purchase. Didn't even need to break them in.

Wear with slacks.
Fantastic so far, I'm not sure how they do in snow yet or in sub zero temps but I plan to use these as an every day shoe to wear with slacks and a polo at a car dealership where we are frequently outside in the elements and expected to look professional. As far as styling they are not aweful, the fur could go. The price is perfect. I'll update this post as I learn more about these boots.

Great pair of boots.
I bought the boots for this winter so I haven't properly tried them out but they are well made and comfortable from trying them out in the house. They do fit as expected but I would say if you plan on wearing thicker socks then maybe going up half a size would be ok too. I would definitely recommend these boots to anyone.

Great product. Fast shipping.
Great boots! Excellent quality. My job involves walking outside for hours each day. These boots have not hurt my feet and do their job in keeping my feet warm in -25 Canadian winters. Appear to be snow and waterproof. I climb through a lot of snow and waterproof on the package often doesn’t mean the boot is totally waterproof. These have kept my feet dry so far.

Gorgeous, warm and comfy
I loved those. I actually bought the taller version first, and then this one at a good price. It’s comfortable - my feet are incredibly fussy, everything gives them blisters and such. I’m a size 10 with a bit of a wide feet (wider right before the toes area) and got them in 10.5. They’re roomy but not in a bad way, I can easily slide my feet in with heavier socks on. Because they are light I don’t feel like I’m dragging my feet as I do with my duck boots from the famous Maine brand, and I feel they’re a bit “bouncy”, giving me decent support. I walk a lot and I walk everywhere, and I’ve had them on for weeks now, sometimes all day long, with no discomfort whatsoever and no break in period required. They feel a bit too firm around the ankles at first, but I actually found this good, giving me proper support. They seem to be water resistant at the very least, having walked under light rain and stepping into puddles with no problem. Decent traction, tested on wet, mild hikes with some steep bits. They look cute, so I don’t have any problems going anywhere (friends’s houses, college, etc) with them. Highly recommended, they’re now my go-to cold weather boots - for the record, I got them instead of the omnipresent weatherproof Chelsea boot (you know which one). I’ve tried a pair of those and despite the fact that they’re sold as a “go with everything” model, they kinda made me look frumpy/sloppy and they definitely did not do any favours for my rather larger calves, making my ankles look too skinny in comparison. Despite being a “sporty” kind of boot, the Ice Maiden looked far more discreet and flattering on me.

So far, so good
Luckily our winter has been the mildest in decades (of course, because I bought warm boots to walk the dog) but so far, so good. They do help somewhat on ice. I did a dumb thing and bought 1/2 size up hoping to wear warm socks. GET YOUR TRUE size. The 1/2 size makes the too big - I did due to the reviews. I am normally an 8 and the 8 would have been perfect. Now I tie them doubly tight but I wished I didn't read people saying they fit small - they DO NOT. They seem quite toasty but we have been above zero and into double digits most days (Celsius.)

Worth the money shoes for winter.
Great shoes for the winter. Used them at -15C and my feets were toasty even with thin socks. They are waterproof, slush or snow, only issue is that the calf is not tight enough even with laces, so I ended up having snow coming in and wet my socks.

Nice Boots
I put 4 stars because I haven't worn them outside yet, but I am excited about these boots, I ordered a size larger because I want to wear thick socks in them, they feel real good when I tried them on and walked around myhouse for a few minutes. They have a good grip and spacious in toe, I look forward to wearing them when snow arrives which wont be long, I live in Quebec and it's end of October...
