...on the second week of use, upon removing it to clean the tank, a foul smell from the log itself accompanied its removal. I have another larger piece of faux wood that also gets removed from time to time, and its odor has always remained natural, so I'm not sure yet, what the real issue is. I will clean the little log better this time, and place it back in the aquarium, and see what happens. Also the inside edges are a concern, but that's easily remedied. I like how it looks in the aquarium standing upright.So it gets a four star for now. I hope after the cleaning it doesn't drop to a three or two.

This log was for neon tetras and it's perfect. It's in a 36 gal tank with other fish, so the small guys needed a place to hide. Not cheaply made, nice and heavy. Not disappointed at all.

My betta Azrael really loves this skull! And I enjoy watching him swim in through the hole in the side of the skull and then out through the eye holes! When it arrived, it did have some rough edges on the inside of various parts like the eye holes and the underside of the skull, so I filed them down using an electric nail bit. Though honestly, it probably wasn't bad enough to cause my fish any harm, I approached it with an abundance of caution. Overall, it looks amazing in the tank and Az is a happy fish with his new hidey hole!
