Q: Due to the amount of stretch, would a med up to 78” fit something up to 80” in size? thanks!

If you want to make the sofa look tight, that's fine, but I think it's better to buy a larger size slipcover

Q: Is it liquid proof or liquid resistant?

This sofa cover is not waterproof, the main function is to prevent dust and pet bites

Q: How do i get the styrofoam rods to stay in the cushions?

I didn’t even use them ! The cover stretched over and stays in place

Q: Can a large size fit a 3 seater couch?

I don’t think so. I have a large 2 seat sofa, & it didn’t fit. So I returned & got a X-Large & it barely fit.
