This is a very very good book its 2 stories possibly three about a school called second chance were students have been kicked out of main school for violence and bad behavior. The stories centre around three people 1 the head teacher Donny knight who runs the school and on the surface everything is nice but behind the scenes everything is not as it seems, Donny is a good character and ya can't help but like him, although he deals in some questions activities, compared to other lead characters in some other of karen woods work, he's a puppy. The 2 character is called Tina who is the deputy head teacher in second chance and her story revolves around her wanting a child of her own and will do whatever it takes to get one. The third character is called Billy and he is a young lad at second chance who gets involved in drugs, selling and delivering mainly. If I have any problems with the book I think there may of been too many subcharacters and it loses that basics that you get from seeing how the main character develops and changes through the book as is seen in some of Karen's other books, I would also like to see karen push the envelope a little more as t what is acceptable to into areas that have not been felt with or are taboo. All in all great book cant wait for the next one

...such is the quality of the writing.Having never read Martina Cole who the author is being compared to, I can’t comment on this.However, I’m surprised at how bad this book is given the number of positive reviews. Vast swathes of the book feel like listening in on individuals who are moaning on about how bad their day has been. Realistic dialogue in this respect, but doesn’t make for a riveting read. Feels like an episode of ‘Eastenders’ now I think about it.Way better books and writers out there doing this subject matter far more adeptly.I get the impression that the actual story here is that the author didn’t take up writing until later in life and has been dealt a tough hand and come out the other side. In which case, all credit to her. Not for me though.

Another mind blowing read from Karen woods!she just brilliant. The media always say she's the Manchester version of Martina, but in my opinion,martina is overated and gone downhill ,kimberley is now in her place, and Karen is the Queen of Manchester.I did not expect the outcome of this book and that's what I love about Karen, you don't see it till it's happened ,This book is about donny who is head of basically a pupil reveral unit ,and tells the story of Ged,Frankie and Nancy, it involves county lining and suspicious wives,in my opinion only downside was it finshed too quick. Definitely bag yourself a read of this !!!

I hate giving bad reviews especially considering I’ve read all of Karen wood’s books and loved them but tbh if this wasn’t an audible I wouldn’t have been able to finish it not only was it predictable but so boring I kept thinking when is the story going to begin? I usually love this author because she never sticks to one genre so I preordered it without reading the synopsis although I would still have read it. Am truly gutted having waited so long to get it

Didn't really get going till 60%, however, it was worth continuing as it had a few twists and and easy read, wouldn't say it was wow,. Definitely would read another of the authors books.

Omg Waited for this book to be released for a while and it did not disappoint.Stand-alone book but I hope there will be a follow on book. If you haven’t read any Karen Woods books please give them a read you won’t be disappointed.

If you are like me and found the story slow at the beginning. Keep reading as it gets very good. Loads of twists and I didn't see that endingHope they is a follow up.

OMG that was one of the best stories I’ve read for a long time.it’s my 1st time to read one of Karen Woods book and I can’t wait to read more. What a top Author.
