Brilliant and tasty kids cookbook
This is such a wonderful book to help get the kids cooking! My 6 year old and I have made the fish fingers and fishcakes and both have been delicious, quick and easy to make. We're going to try a recipe a week from the book as she's enjoying making them so much.

Fun and easy to make - but recipes hit and miss
This is a colourful and well presented book packed full of recipes. The recipes are easy to read and easy to follow - well within the ability of my 9 year old daughter to complete them with minimal adult interference. In terms of encouraging independence and growing confidence to complete tasks unaided this is a fantastic resource. But Beware! Not all the recipes are what they seem. We have tried a few and they are a bit hit and mis. \there is a rather hardcore approach to what this book calls real food vs processed food - so no sugar/white flour, minimal butter and dairy. One recipe, simply titled 'Fudge' consists of cashew nuts a dod of honey and a little butter, it bears no actual resemblance to fudge at all, other than having a fudgy texture. I should state for the record that I don't like honey, that probably went some way towards ruining my enjoyment of this recipe, but really the taste was not good. The lemonade was undrinkable - squeezed lemons, water and a dod of honey, it was super sour. I guess the authors of this book might argue that I am conditioned but a life time of sugar consumption to reject anything unsweetened - this may be true, but I don't believe that the way to stop kids eating so much processed food is by removing all sugar from their diet. The 'savoury' recipes were much more successful, lamb kofta, veggie packed burgers and fish cakes were fun to make and tasty to eat.

Junior Cook Book
This is a great little book from Collins's "You Can" series which is designed to help children between 7-11 years old take a more hands on view of life and realise that there are plenty of things they can do to create and learn.Written by Nutritionist Helen Burgess all of the tasty treats featured in the recipes in this book are healthy and nutritious and the book is more than just a Cook Book, encouraging children to think about the food they eat and make healthier choices. The book is bright and attractive with nice clear pictures to tempt and encourage the budding Junior Chef to try their hand the simple recipes. In this age group there would be adult suoervsion and guidance involved as well and what better way to spend quality time with your child/children than creating something tasty?£6.38 for this is a steal for such an entertaining, creative and educational book.

Great kids cookery book
We are vegetarian and found that the majority, 34 out of the 38 of the recipes where suitable for our dietary needs and a lot of them are also suitable for vegans as the recipes will say use an alternative milk for milk or coconut oil for butter.I got this for my 5 year old, who has shown an interest in cooking. The recipes vary in complexity. Some he can do with little instruction, like Banana lollies and Delicious dates. Others require some help, especially if the cooker is required. The pages are vibrant and apart from the recipes, the pages have tips, fun facts, questions and games that will help keep children entertained. YOU CAN cook tasty food is a great introduction to cookery for kids.
