Took plenth of notes and i really connected with the audio book as well as this one. Will def use as reference

This is a MUST READ. I originally got this book for a research paper. However, I genuinely wanted to know, “ what were black people religion before slavery and why?” . This book answered a lot of my questions on this spiritual journey I have been on. It’s a great read. Something I’ve have shared and recommended.

I'm reading this book as the first book of a series of books I intend to read on hoodoo and African spirituality. I'm not a fan of how the book falsely states that hoodoo is not a closed practice. While I understand there may be similarities in other spiritual followings, that doesn't make hoodoo an open practice.
