Take a handsome leader of a country who happens to like kinky sex, add in a sexy intern (not too young, but still somewhat innocent), throw in some West Wing political humour and a smattering of 'Canadianisms' and you've got the start of an interesting and very sexy new series from co-authors Ainsley Booth and Sadie Haller. Prime Minister is all of these things, and came about as a story idea from the recent election of a young (mid forties) and attractive man who is now the leader of Canada. No matter what country you live in and what kind of politics you follow, if you like forbidden workplace romances, secret affairs, and have a hankering for some naughty scenes, this story will appeal to you.Gavin is the new Prime Minister of Canada. He's in his forties, ran a political campaign that he didn't actually expect would lead him to be elected and he's now in the driver's seat. He's a conscientious, fair minded, demanding and focussed man - who just happens to be a Dom in his private life. Consider the challenges of leading a country while trying to indulge in your sexual appetites without scandalizing a country and you've got an inkling as to some of his frustration. Enter Ellie. As a twenty five year old intern with a scholarship to work for the PMO (Prime Minister's Office) for the summer, she's got a crush on Gavin, just like every other able bodied woman in the country. When Gavin turns his piercing eyes on her, she's determined to be professional, and ignore the sizzling reaction of her other body parts. But when she sees the heat in his eyes at certain innuendos in their private conversations she decides to take a chance and offer him a little action on the side. What starts out as a sexy affair between them soon becomes something more - a real relationship. But can they transition from behind the scenes to out in the Canadian public without ruining either of their reputations?What I really enjoyed about this story is that while it's a forbidden love affair (She's an intern! He's the Prime Minister!), at no time is there any sense that Gavin is coercing Ellie from a position of power. In fact it's quite the opposite. Ellie makes her interest known, and he's reluctant to take what's on offer, concerned more about her reputation than his own, if the story came out. Once they start seeing each other, and their relationship intensifies, they find a way to make the situation palatable to the public should it become known. I liked that Gavin was concerned about Ellie and her reputation, and willing to take all responsibility for their affair.Ellie is a smart, funny, and naive woman, but willing to try new things. With Gavin, an experienced Dom, she gets her wish. There are some super sexy scenes between them, where Gavin teaches Ellie the ways of a submissive, and they try new to her experiences. There is a threeway scene, some light bondage and spanking ,and general shenanigans, but nothing too hard core. Suffice it to say, it's still eye opening for Ellie and she and Gavin make for a very compelling couple. I appreciated the care taken in these scenes - they come across as realistic in a BDSM relationship with limits and safe words and aftercare, all important aspects that are not always addressed properly in other romances. Everything that happens between them is fully consensual. Ellie's age comes through sometimes, in her relationship with her parents and her roommate, but just because she's young doesn't mean she can't hold her own in a relationship. She cares for Gavin, and she's willing to stand up for him and for herself.There are some interesting scenes dealing with what takes place behind the scenes at the prime minister's office. Everything from security, press, living conditions, policies and interactions with other world leaders is covered. Events on the world stage are front and center too, ripped from current headlines as Gavin must deal not only with his private life, but his job too. We get to see a well rounded man, trying to do his best to run a country, be a friend to his longtime friend Max who has just moved to Ottawa, and deal with the emotions surrounding his new relationship with Ellie. I loved the scenes of him with Max (who is also a Dom and knows about his private kinks) and the ones where he plays pickup hockey with some guys who've been vetted by his lead security man Lachlan (who I can't wait to see in a story of his own, as well as Max who is next). They show an ordinary guy, doing an extraordinary job. Fortunately for Gavin, Lachlan happens to share the same kink interests as him and his discretion is guaranteed so Gavin has someone to turn to to help in his play with Ellie, whether it be roleplay costumes or toys (or a helping hand).While the story idea and the title of the series, Frisky Beavers, implies a combination of sexy and fun, the writing style of the two authors in engaging and flows seamlessly - I couldn't tell who wrote which parts (and I've read them both independently). The story is told from dual points of view, in first person, so we get the story from Ellie and from Gavin in their own words, with their thoughts. If you're looking for some heat and a fun romance with some timely politics, this series is for you. 4.5 stars.

My friend suggested that I buy this book because I have an absolutely legendary crush on the individual that this is based on, and I also write similar stories. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I expected something light yet hot, but this book is very well written and incredibly sexy. Way to go.

This book had me laughing out loud and trying to wash dishes one-handed!Great characters with brains. Oh how I love smart characters who don't do stupid things just to move the plot along. Thank you Ms Booth. Even the supporting characters were interesting.A wicked build up into a very intense and sweet relationship. I loved that like most of us they made the decision to work on their relationship at every hurdle, even when it hurt.I loved that he screwed up sometimes and totally owned it. I mean that first giant doo dah was pretty epic and all his doing but he put his big boy pants on and owned it.Obviously, asit's a romance novel with a hint o' bdsm so there had to be some unrealistic insta-ready always-turned-on element to the sex scenes but they fit the story enough that I didn't have to stretch too far to believe how much they turned each other on. Frankly the sex scenes were particularly steamy because of how much you felt their emotions for each other.But let me end with a question... did anyone read this book and not picture Monsieur Trudeau? Heh heh...

I am a real Ainsley Booth fan having fell hook, line and sinker for Cole Parker in Hate F*@k and boy can she write a good sex scene!So I was eagerly awaiting Prime Minister and was keen to read a story involving a head of state. The collaboration with Sadie Haller is a new departure and the writing was consistent. We are treated to the sexy romance between the young(ish) Canadian Primer Minister Gavin and the fresh-faced intern Ellie. Despite the obvious concerns about the possible career-suicide of Gavin embarking on a relationship with Ellie, they can only resist the simmering attraction for so long before they 'throw caution to the wind'.Ellie is a very willing bed-partner and realises she is very taken by Gavin's Dominant tendencies and the sex positively sizzles! Warning there is lots of spanking and even a threesome to titillate us.The only reason I couldn't give 5 stars was because I didn't really think the relationship panned out as I would expect it to. They got too serious too quickly and I would expect the Prime Minister to be a little more cautious rather than rushing into settling down with a partner so soon. Also I prefer my romances to have a bit more drama - darker or with more twists and turns as nothing particularly remarkable happened.

Gavin is the new Prime Minister of Canada and Ellie gets a job as an intern. The first day he sees her there is an instant attraction and he wants things he shouldnt. Gavin is into a little BDSM and he finds that Ellie is a perfect partner enjoying what he can teach her. The story was okay but I thought what drama there was wasnt really a page turner. It was just an okay read.

Absolutely fantastic read. The main characters are charming, he's a complete Alpha & she's a natural sub that is also a spitfire.Gavin (The Canadian PM) is newly elected & has big ideas for reform. His team hire summer interns to make sure the youngest voting age group are represented. Ellie is his Chief of Staffs intern who is extremely intelligent & works extremely hard!! She has a massive crush on the PM & though it's inappropriate he's constantly daydreaming about her too. This story charts their relationship from day one & it's a hot rollercoaster of a ride :)This book is so well written. The characters & relationships of those that surround the two main ones are equally fascinating. 100% recommend this raunchy, intriguing & sensual book.Debbie, 1970, UK

A Fantastic read... Every thing there - tension, passion for their jobs, and each other. Tenderness, HOT HOT HOT sex and great loyalty from friends. You could feel the ambience building, right from the beginning. I was hooked because of the banter, especially right at the beginning under Authors Footnotes... I knew from then onwards, it was going to be a great read. Loved the cover photo too. yummy.The next book in this series (Frisky Beavers bk 2) is due out 18th Oct. 2016 - Dr. Bad Boy which covers Max's story. You meet him in bk 1... naughty boy in every way..... can't wait.Sadie Haller also had input in this novel, so she has to get a mention.
