Toshiba 19V 3.95A 75W PA5179U-1ACA Laptop AC Adapter Charger Power Cord Compatible with PA-1750-09 PA-1750-04 PA3468E-1AC3 PA3432U-1ACA PA5034E-1AC3

I purchased this adapter, because it was a lot cheaper than the ones available via the manufacurers website for my laptop. And, it had the correct Amps and wattage, whereas the adapter the manufacturer of my laptop tried to sell me a charger with a higher charge rate, which I wasn't too keen on, so I thought, when all else fails, Amazon. They had the charger I wanted, at half the price.The charger came on time, in good condition, except, when I went to charge my laptop, it made an electrical buzzing noise, like something was loose inside, electrical wise. And, probably because of this, it caused my mouse to freak out/loose responsiveness during the begining of charging, but after a while, and after the battery was fully charged, it all but dissapeared. All in all, an annoyance at best. Besides, with the new charger I'm able to charge my laptop without having to constantly check that it's actually charging, and not just sitting there with a ghetto 'taped together' charger plugged in.I left this in the seller feedback info, and the company got with me right away to address the situation, and offered a replacement, and even offered to cover return shipping, up to a certain ammount. They were very courteous, and appologized for the faulty item. All in all, I'm pleased with them, and can't knock them down below a 4. I'll see about an update when I recieve the replacement as well.Because I had just received the item, I cannot realy say anything about the brittleness, or other manufacturing problems plaguing other reviews, however in the couple of weeks that I had the item, I had no problems with it at all. I can only hope the the replacement will be just as well made... Another slight downside is that it isnt as smooth-looking as my previous adapter, and it's more boxy, but hey, I like looking stylish-diva when I'm working with computers. ;p--Update--After receiving the replacement, in a timely manner I might add, it works great. No funny-noises, and no erratic mouse movements. I've had it for a couple months now, and it hasn't worn down on me, or displayed any 'brittle' qualities, knock on wood. Im pleased.

AC adapter works well out of the box. I was hoping the AC adapter would be as long as the original (Part NO:PA3468U-1ACA Model:ADP-75SB AB) that came with the computer but its length is shorter, I needed it anyway. Also the original one has two prongs and this one has three, no problem though. I went to the Toshiba site for a compatible AC adapter but they showed me a 120 Watt Global AC adapter twice as big and so luckily I had time to cancel the order at Amazon before they shipped it. I then looked at the part number on my old AC adapter (which is what I should have done in the first place) instead of going to the Toshiba site. Im not sure if I am going to have the same problem again but this same part number AC adapter that came with my computer is going bad after 4 years that is why I am purchasing this one. The old adapter I have to twist it a bit and plus even added tape to make it work. The old one still works I just have to move the cable a bit so it makes contact. Furthermore, I also want to add that some reviewers think this is a counterfeit product, it clearly is not. Toshiba just happened to make an adapter with the same part number but different model numbers which means the adapters will have some differences. As far as I know there are two versions of this adapter. One of them is Part NO: PA3468U-1ACA Model:PA-1750-09 which is this adapter. The other one is Part NO:PA3468U-1ACA Model:ADP-75SB AB which is the longer version of the adapter but with two prongs only. I would suggest you buy one of these two adapters if it matches the same part number as your old Toshiba adapter and then you can decide which model you want to purchase.

If you want to replace a desktop this is good for that and only that, because you will not be moving and bending the cord, causing it to break. I have to replace my original cord after I noticed it smoking and sparking. I thought it was my computer but nope it was the cord. To be fair I am hard on my cord, it gets bent in every which way and has last about 3 years that way. Not good for a laptop adapter, but at least it lasted that long. I move my cord all the time from room to room, because my battery sucks, but that is a whole different issue. If you use it in one spot and never move it it should last a little while.Update:After having this product for a little over a month and a half it completely died on me. I went to the return item page and read their return policy and it said that they do not accept returns. So I contacted the company themselves and said I was miss informed, they do accept returns. So if you have a problem with this item contact the company. They are allowing me to return the product and sending me out a new one. I am very pleased with this companies customer service. Not so pleased with the product itself. I suggest you get a Toshiba made adapter if you have a Toshiba, but look around for the best price, because if you go to to Toshiba's website they are expensive. So research for better prices.Update 2: 1/7/2011I have had this cord for almost a year now (11 months.) Which is why I changed the stars from 3 to 4. The cord works when it works but this is the third replacement cords I have had to get since my original cord failed after 3 years. These cords have not lasted long. Shortest time was 3 months and longest 11 months and that is only if I keep the cord plugged in and do not use it all the time for long periods. If I had the money I would buy a computer with a better cord, battery and that is more portable.
