Great book with abundant illustrations of good quality

Little bit small

Beautiful book!

A perfect source of reference material. This book is a perfect starting point for anyone interested in learning about the Mughal style of painting. Beautifully written, and boasting some of the greatest artists of the Mughal period.

What a great book this would have made if it was coffee-table size, with enlargements of the paintings allowing for full appreciation of all the details! It is a fine small (about 6" X 8"/15 cm X 20.5 cm) paperback book, but the illustrations are also small. I'm sure there were scholarly and financial reasons for printing the book this size; but I have to use a magnifying glass to really see the images well. The works of art look beautiful and fascinating, and I'm sure the text is first rate, as it is from the Bodleian Library.
