PentelEnergel Alloy RT Gel Pen Medium Point Metal Tip Ballpoint Pen Black ink + Refill (Red Body)

First, let me say that I already owned 4 of these pens prior to ordering two of these with "red" barrels. Two with the silver colored barrel, one with black and one with blue. So, I knew the quality and what to expect from the pens themselves.I had read the reviews here and, I must agree with what was said by DannyDan559, these are not exactly "red." However, I had seen the red model in stores before and thought I would take a chance that I would get pens that looked closer to that shade of red than what DannyDan559 showed in his photo.It is not a complete disappointment as it is still a red barrel even if not the shade I was expecting/hoping for.I will say that I am surprised at how the pens were shipped. They were not in the retail packaging like you would get from a store. They were each in a sealed plastic bag with the spare ink cartridge.The spare ink cartridge is a nice bonus though it can take a long time for the pens to run dry.Other than the color being a somewhat different shade of red than I was expecting/hoping for and the pens not being in the retail packaging I having nothing bad to say about my purchase. These seem to be of the same quality as my other 4 pens of the same design and the price was good.I give these 4 stars rather than 5 because the color of the product compared to that in the photo is noticeably different and I do think they should be in the retail packaging or at least have something explaining that they won't be and why.

I’ve always used these pens. However, the last two I bought broke within 2-3 week. If this pen had not cost as much as it did, I wouldn’t say anything. But these pens cost between $8.75 - $10.00. I buy the energel refills and they have always lasted a long time. One difference I noticed is that those pens didn’t come in a regular packaging. They were wrapped in a piece of plastic. The reason I gave it a 2 is because under normal conditions I would have given it a 5. The ones I have previously bought lasted for a long time. I even buy them at Christmas for coworker. I just bought another one and it came in a package. We will see.

I've bought dozens of these pens over the last few years in every color they're available in and have yet to have one be defective!! Love love love how nice and smooth these pens write. If they're so great why have I had to buy dozens of them over the last few years you ask? I lose them all the time like I lose sunglasses. Can't count how may sunglasses I've lost over the years but it's A LOT!!!!

Pentel gel pens write beautifully! I prefer the medium point for a bold look. I own almost every color: gold, silver, black, navy blue, light blue, pink & red. (Still need purple & aquamarine, ha!) The gel ink lasts a long time. Description said it came w a refill but it didn’t, it wasn’t in a box just a plastic sleeve but $5.98 is a GREAT price!

Love these pens. I am left handed and this pen fits comfortably in my hand...Now have both the medium point and the fine point...Like them both but maybe the fine point just a little bit better. Also a very good pen for those of us who have arthritis in our hands. Grip takes a little time to get used to because point/ink seems to simply glide along the page...

I have been using Pentel Energel Alloy RT Gel Pens for several years now. I prefer gel tip thickness of .05 or .03, so i buy those refills for use in my pens. This was purchased as a gift for a colleague, so I'm thrilled it came with a refill. Exactly as I expected. Love these pens. When I lose one on my desk it's hard to pick up anything else to write with.

I love these pens. I'm a lefty. It's hard to find a good gel pen that doesn't smear. This is great. Why I took off one star. ITS NOT RED. ITS MAROON. I wanted the red that it looks like. So that sucks

love, love, love, love, love these pens - I have them in every color with matching ink. The gel dries quickly and they rarely smudge, and flows out like butter. Nice weight and feels good in the hand. For the pen-o-phile, you could do worse for more money.
