This starts with coverage of mystery big cats, examples of which are black tigers, the graveyard wild cat, a hyena-like creature, a big black bobcat, the wampus cat, the chupacabra, jaguarandi, the Carolina panther, black panthers, the santer, the Beast of Blandenboro, the serval and mixed in are mystery candids such as the Sampson Fox and the demon dog of Valle Crucis. As with other books in the series, there is coverage of Bigfoot types, examples of which are the Judaculla/Tsul' Kalu, the Boojum, the Yahoo, the Kecleh-Kudleh, the Nun Yuni Wi, and Knobby. A section on the Great Dismal Swamp covers, ghost lights, a firebird, a cow-bear, and others. The rest of the book covers the dakwa, the datsi, the uktena, giant leeches, sea serpents, mermaids, sirens, the long armed sharks of Cape Hatteras, the Lake Norman Monster, the Whang Doodle, the monkey-dog, the Gallinipper, the Ro-Tay-Yo, the Ulagu, the Stick Men, blobs, etc. As with other books in the series, there are plenty of pics, a mix of photos and old and new art.

This was an interesting series of creatures, much of which seemed to be made up of rather large cats, as it were, so there goes the neighborhood.
