Dear Mr. Black: The Mr. Black Duet, Book 1

So hard to let go.
Let me start by saying, I absolutely loved this book. I was hesitant to even read 'Tainted Black' because as you know, most people don't share the same views when it comes to romance. Most people can't deal with the ugly that feels like blood has been drawn with the depth and drama surrounding true love. But I am so glad I took a chance. This book lifted my spirit, and had me chanting like I was a cheerleader. Chloe and Theo, oh my goodness, what can I say, they were the poster couple of tortured love. Age wasn't even the determining factor for me, it was the love of they shared for Theo's daughter. Life is strange... and unexpected...and full of surprises. But true love is endless. True love will find away. True love will move mountains and sacrifice everything for chance. True love...is Chloe and Theo. Shanora Williams, you are gifted!!!

If you’re looking for something forbidden with a whole lot of heat factor, let Mr. Black taint you today.
It’s a known fact that I get this sort of high when reading a “forbidden romance,” between two consenting adults and so when I’d heard about Shanora William’s Tainted Black… Well, let’s just say I was a little too excited; shaking for my next “forbidden” fix. There was no denying it. Tainted Black was CRAZY HOT! The “hottie tottie” scenes were WHOA BABY!!! Thigh clenching, melt your underpants, endorphin mania, wake your husband kind of scenes. The author created such an alpha male in Theo Black. He looked the part, he talked the part, and my goodness did that man walk the part. The chemistry between Chloe and Theo was undeniable. A little touch set them off like a wildfire and I was a voyeur in it for the ride.Chloe Knight first laid eyes on Theodore Black at 12 years old; her heart rumbling as loudly as the motorcycle he’d been straddling on his driveway. Even from that very first day, Chloe knew that the feelings Theo brought out of her were something out of the ordinary. She locked up those strange emotions and instead found a lifelong friend in Theo’s daughter, Izzy. I loved how the author was able to formulate a slow burning relationship between Theo and Chloe; setting it ablaze only when the time was right and that time came when she was 19 years old. No longer a girl and ready to enter womanhood; and the way in which Theo brings her into womanhood had my libido in a frenzy. The level of heat that Theo and Chloe could create with one another made the couple of hours it took for me to read this book in its entirety so worth it.Now comes the BIG but… I loved Tainted Black’s premise and Theo and Chloe together BUT apart, well, they just both sort of didn’t work for me. As hot as Theo was, I thought he totally took advantage of Chloe’s naivety. He knew how much he affected her and time and time again I felt like he used that against her too. The age difference definitely affected their relationship outside of the bedroom. Having lived such a sheltered life, I didn’t feel like Chloe grew up; she didn’t set boundaries and she was always so easily swayed because she was a people pleaser. Izzy taking after her father with a whole lot of battiness, took advantage of Chloe in many ways too. I felt bad for her most of the time. She was such a lost soul without Theo guiding her and the majority of guiding he did with her was towards any surface he could get his hands all over her.But the BIGGEST issue I had with this book was how inconsistently written it was. One minute Chloe has hazel eyes and the next she’d had piercing grey eyes. Unless she was into colored contacts, I’m pretty sure eye color doesn’t often change much. The spelling errors were littered all over the place, the grammar, well… correct usage surely wasn’t of the biggest concern. I expect for the books I pay to look like they’ve at least gone through editing once. So this was a huge disappointment for me. But again, this book’s heat level was enough to keep me going; spelling, grammar, structure issues and all!I saw quite a few reviews out there expressing their strong opinions about the ending of this book. Many clawing at the roots of their hair, unable to accept just how the author wrapped up their story. I however, loved the direction she took it. It was probably the most growth I’d seen of Chloe and even of Theo. Did I think Izzy was still a selfish, self-absorbed brat? Yep! Sure did! I honestly felt like she was the ultimate game changer for Theo and Chloe and I thought it a shame because she just seemed so unworthy of it. That pang of disappointment lit up for a bit but at the end of it all, I was happy with Shanora’s decision on how Tainted Black ended. It had closure and it was done in such a thought provoking way. I’d say this was probably one of the best, unexpected endings I’d read in a while. So if you’re looking for something forbidden with a whole lot of heat factor, let Mr. Black taint you today.

Wish My neighbor was Mr. Black when I was younger!
Oh, Shanora Williams! You stole my heart with this book. I will never forget Theo Black and his little Knight. Their secret rendezvous, close calls and Dirty Black. It will all hold such a special place in my heart. I. Loved. This. Book.Dear Mr. Black is a story of love, temptation, regret and growing up. Following Chloe and Theo's story as they both try and work through the whirlwind of emotions happening within them was an absolute emotional roller coaster. I love how Shanora Willams let you see through the different layers of the characters in this story because it made you feel so much deeper for Chloe and Theo. Being in their heads while they battle right and wrong and love and lust was beautiful and heartbreaking. I will say that this book was definitely more realistic for me than a lot of other forbidden romances I have read. How this story came to an end was absolutely perfect. Which, made it seem even more like something that could happen in real life. If it hasn't already. Are you keeping something from us Shanora? Just kidding. Maybe.Just a little F.Y.I this book was previously named Tainted Black5 out of 5 starsCan't stress how much I loved this book. If I could give this book more stars I would. Well, technically I could but you know what I mean. Dear Mr. Black will have you flipping page after page wanting more and when you think you can't take anymore Shanora will give it to you one last time! Don't pass this one up.

Enjoyable book !!!
I love taboo stories and this one has been sitting on my kindle since February this year. Loved the blurb which drew me straight in and couldn't wait to start. The start of the book was really good and then it sagged a bit in the middle and I could feel myself getting slightly bored but I ALWAYS persevere with a book and I'm glad because about 62% of the way in this book got so much better.Basically Chloe has fallen for her best friends father, she has been infatuated since the first time she laid eyes on him when she was 12 years old, if that wasn't bad enough as the years go by and she is now older Mr Black is feeling all sorts of naughty things for Chloe too, but with 20 year age gap, a daughter her age as well and being happily married Mr Black shows some much needed restraint. That is until a tragedy befalls the family and every notion of normal comes to a grinding halt and lives are changed forever.I didn't particularly like Chloe very much, but Mr Black I loved , I so warmed to his character and I'm always drawn to the "bad" guy and he never disappointed me. Secondary characters are really in the back ground and we don't get too much interaction with them, this is all about Chloe and Mr Black. There is plenty of sex involved as you would imagine and some of it is extremely hot and erotic - no complaints from me, but I feel there should have maybe been that feeling of love a little more that everyone was spouting about and not just the sex which sometimes and I can't believe I'm saying this, over shadowed the story in parts. All in all a good read and I will be reading Untainted which is a follow on I believe !!!

Brilliant....until the end :(
Omg this book was brilliant....sexy, fun, the love story of Theo Black and his 'Little Knight' Chloe.Their love story is immense....brilliant and tragic! There aren't many books I read that make me sob but my god this one did! It's a great book and I would 100% recommend it!Now if you don't want the spoiler alert please stop reading this review here!I've rated this book 4 stars....and the reason I can't give it the fifth is the ending! With a love like their's I was gutted that at the very end the author decided to make it so they don't stay together?! I was wounded, devastated for them! And quite a bit more than a little disappointed!

Absolutely fantastic. The theme to this storyline might not be every bodies cup of tea, but never judge a book until you've read it. A love story about the spring of youth and the late love of summer. Chloe Knight has a heart of gold and a caring treasure. Theo Black should be off limits, as he is the father of Izzy, Chloe's best friend. He is troubled widowed, and a caring, but dark soul. Life isn't fair, but in reality it isn't. People don't always fall in love with the right person, or the right generation, but life can suck! A must read, that gives you plenty to think about. A lustful, love story, that results in an ending you can't predict, but it would be wrong for me to spoil an excellent book. Written well, by a talented author, who as far as I am concerned never fails to deliver a good full story.

I really loved the concept of this story and it started out so strong. I loved the characters I felt connected with them and I felt invested in their relationship for two thirds of the book .....Unfortunately the last third just didn't reach my expectations and I felt it was rushed a little.I don't want to give any of the plot away but will say the last scene I soooo wanted Chloe to open the condo door and find Mr Black the other side of it and for the realisation of their final meeting couldn't possibly be the last.I really hope there's a book 2 to follow I think there's so much more in store for this couple that's yet to be uncovered !!
