Easy setup - works, no fuss
I recently purchased a rat trap bucket, and I couldn't be more satisfied with its performance. This trap is incredibly easy to use—simply bait it (peanut butter) and place it in an area where you've noticed rodent activity. The design ensures that rats drop into the bucket without any fuss, making disposal straightforward and hassle-free.What I appreciate most is the simplicity of the whole process. No complicated mechanisms or messy cleanup—just an efficient way to manage a rat problem. Plus, the bucket is durable and holds up well outdoors or indoors. If you’re looking for an effective and user-friendly solution for rat control, I highly recommend this trap. It does exactly what it promises, and it makes dealing with unwanted guests much easier!

Finally, a better mousetrap!
Living on a small farm, mice are simply a fact of life and as long as they stay out of the house, garage, and shop I'm fine. It is only when they come inside that they become pests.Over the years I've tried about every mouse trap on the market from the trusty old snap trap to modern live traps, sticky boards, and even a few professional electronic devices, and all with about the same lack of success. Several months ago I came across the rolling mouse trap and thought, "Oh, what the heck, give one a try." Best move I've made in quite a while! The roller assembly comes pre assembled and ready to mount in your bucket of choice. It fits perfectly in the buckets I bought from the local hardware store by drilling two 1/4" holes in the rim and the threaded rod used for the axle also acts as a landing for the ramps I made from some old 1 x 2 boards. Baited with some peanut butter smeared on the roller it is 100% effective. Mice smell the bait, run up the inclined boards (I use about a 30 degree angle), walk out onto the roller , and fall into the bucket. In a tall bucket (5 or 6 gallon) they can't jump back out and it works as a live trap, add about 2" of water with a 1/2 teaspoon of dish washing soap and they quickly drown. These traps average 3-4 mice a night and are the best value I have ever found. Since I started using them the mouse population around the house, garage, and shop has dropped to almost zero! Another plus is that I don't have to worry about kids or pets getting hurt by spring loaded traps or poisons! Great trap, great value, I highly recommend!

It's a good concept, but...
It requires more ingenuity and perseverance than the rodents posses and I was out matched.

Good concept and design.
This was easy to set up and seems to function well and as it should. Unfortunately we have not had any luck with it. I imagine it's user error and we just have not found the best place for it. It spins really well and it is sturdy in design. The peanut butter we used hasn't been eaten. It was also the perfectly sized for a 5 gallon bucket. I really just think we would have better luck in our garage since it has way less traffic. This being a 5 gallon bucket makes it tricky to try and conceal. And the ramps coming off of both sides add to that. Keep in mind for placement.
