Buyer beware! This thing is a furnace!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Despite looking up reviews online, more than one of which mentioned cooling issues, I made my decision based upon the reviews here on Amazon. That was a mistake. This is the hottest computer I've ever used. And by "hot" I don't mean awesome, good, fast, etc. I mean it consistently runs at 96 degrees Celsius (204 degrees Fahrenheit), with the cooling fans going nigh full blast essentially without respite. It gets hot quickly (after only a short time gaming), stays hot, and just just seems to keep getting warmer. The body of the laptop above the F keys (near the screen) gets so hot, it will literally BURN you (reaching 140 degrees Fahrenheit for me), if you touch it for more than a second or two. It's like gaming on a stove top for Pete's sake. I was going to make a video of water boiling off the case, but didn't want to compromise my ability to return it. Heat progresses (over time) down the middle of the keyboard to the top of the touchpad, until only the outer most (lateral) edges of the keyboard remain relatively cool. (SEE INCLUDED VIDEO. That number is the tactile temperature of the laptop exterior.) I feel compelled to turn off my game at that point because it shows no indication of stopping. And this is in a room with the ceiling fan on high and the AC turned down to 62 degrees. I was sitting in a cold room, fully clothed, wearing a light jacket trying to mitigate the overheating. It didn't work.I have serious concerns about the longevity of this laptop; i.e., that it will cook itself to death. I've only been able to play for about an hour before the keyboard gets uncomfortably warm, I begin to experience issues (screen stutter in game, etc.), and worry the laptop may damage itself with protracted use. Needless to say, I expected much better from a unit approaching a 3k price tag, and don't think it will serve my purposes (extended gaming). I don't need this kind of hardware to browse webpages and stream video. If I can't game with it, safely or reliably, it's effectively useless. I've seen videos showing how to possibly (moderately) improve this issue, but they require opening the unit and voiding the warranty. Given I had concerns about impending issues with this laptop, voiding the warranty was something I was simply unwilling to do for a solution that, even if it worked, only resulted in a slight improvement. This is just an epic design fail in my opinion. Before concluding something else needs to be addressed. There are far, far, far too many reviews on this website which make claims devoid of any evidence, and/or based upon nothing of substance whatsoever. For example, the reviews here stating this laptop is great for gaming, PROVIDE ZERO EVIDENCE for that claim. They inexplicably provide pictures/videos of things like the desktop, or streaming video while giving glowing endorsements, and nothing depicting the unit's performance under stress (unlike my uploads). In one of the reviews praising it, the reviewer states they didn't even buy the laptop. (Uh, what?) You folks need to be mindful of this, the sheer abundance or BS'ers on this site, when making your decision. I would go so far as to say, based upon my experience, that this laptop is not only not suitable for it's ostensible purpose but even potentially dangerous. Who wants to worry about being burned while using their computer?P.S. Frame rate was decent on Fallen Order at 1080p by the way. Not great. Not awful. Adequate is the term I would use.

AMAZING laptop, SCALPER prices
This laptop is super AMAZING, absolute powerhouse!! Any AAA game runs smooth, not loud, reasonable weight. Kind of impressive how ASUS was able to make it so good.At THIS $2.5k price -- no buy from me.Cons: no WEBCAM, so invest ~100$ into something nice

You will not be disappointed at anything from this.
Running it with 2 extra monitors at Asus's "built-in software management" at just the stock setting (Performance) and it has been nothing but a smooth sail and relatively quiet..."mostly." FPS on COD has been resting in the 95-125 FPS on a 1440P M with G-Sync and high as hell settings, 90% at Ultra with a browser open on the other monitor and Dis and Spotify playing too...that is off of 16GB of RAM. Not too shabby! Excellent for the price! No need to tweak or overclock this either. Excellent price and battery too Two USB ports is the least of my concern. (Buy a $4 Hub and get a hold of yourself.)

Be prepared for bad quality control and even worse warranty support
I bought the top of the line GX531GWR gaming laptop with RTX 2070 graphics card. The fan started to make clunking noise only a month later. Right before warranty expiration, I submitted RMA and sent it back for repair. I detailed the issue in RMA and request them to REPLACE the fan, since many people on a laptop forum had similar issue, and mentioned it had to be replaced.A month later it was 'repaired' and sent back. Only a week later, the fan noise came back and hunting me like a ghost everyday since then. Fast forward six months, the noise become so loud that I have to shut down the laptop, and restart it. It may make it better, or not. So I reached out to Asus support again, requesting a RMA. I stressed that this is a lingering issue because Asus didn't replace the fan at first attempt. However, after going back and forth with the CS for almost a hour, he initially agreed to issue RMA, then changed his mind a couple mins later, and ask me to pay for 'DIAGNOSTIC FEE' of 85 bucks first. I was laughing because I have done that for Asus already, twice.I tried my best to make this right and reasonable, but the CS kept asking for payment. I didn't know what made him back-stepping on earlier agreement. So now, I'm trying to look for replacement parts on eBay and AliExpress, and hopefully I can get a good fan first. Will I ever buy an ASUS laptop? Yes, only if it's dirty cheap. After your purchase, be prepared for these quality issues, the hustle of dealing with Asus support, hours of difficult reasoning with CS, and indifferent patching fixes instead of a proper repair.

motherboard went bad in 2 month
i actually bought this laptop from best buy brand new. had it for less than 2 months and the motherboard went bad. had it sent in for repair an just got it back, so far it seems to be working fine again. just beware the quality control must not be very good. also my warranty didnt get extended from the date of repair. for buying such an expensive laptop top and having to be without it for over a month, im not very happy with Asus.
