1318-04 Rope Light, 18', Blue

Pretty good lights for the price. I wanted some ambient lighting in my bedroom, and decided to go with some cheap blue rope lights to start (these). The color is quite nice, it came with some mounts, and you can't beat the low wattage LEDs... they're cool to the touch, and you can leave them on all the time without impacting your energy bill. Because of the thick-ish casing, though, don't count on these being the brightest. I was originally thinking of putting them behind a dresser or bed for a non-directional glow sort of effect, but they're just a bit too dim for that. As long as you're ok with seeing the actual rope light wherever you put it, I recommend these. Otherwise, you might be better off going with white ones or some other type of light.

Bought these as mood lighting for the deck. I remember how well they worked when I was in Afghanistan, but for some reason they aren't working out as they did over there. They aren't as blue as they should be. Sections display white light, and other sections have a greenish hue to them. These aren't 1/2" in diameter as described. These are the 3/8" diameter lights, and they will not work with 1/2" connectors. They aren't very bright. Comparing them to the blue 1/2" lights, they put out significantly less light.Be careful. The only good thing about them is the seller is leting me send them back, but shipping is almost one third of the cost.

I put this in my son's room to serve as a more interesting nightlight. It runs up and around and down some shelving and provides enough light for a child's room at night without being annoying. He loves it enough that I put it on it's own battery-powered light switch next to the regular light switch.

The lights work well, no problems there. The only thing that could be better is if they were a bit brighter. Compared to my roommate's green lights of the same brand, they are very dim. Also, since they are incandescent, they do heat up a bit, warm to the touch. Overall, good for the money.

These are extremely poor quality rope lights and the manufacturer obviously didn't quality-test their product. I ordered four strings of these lights...and three out of the four strings had sections of the rope that were already burned out when I plugged them in for the first time (they're not very bright either). Spend a few extra bucks and get the LED strings instead...I'm now aggravated that I hadn't done that in the first place. These are all going back for a refund.

Found the light output to be too low. Ordered a similarly priced rope light that uses blue LEDs instead, which delivered a richer, brighter lighting effect. If you're not looking to use the rope for effect lighting and just need it for direct-view party decoration, I guess it'll serve.

I was so happy to get these lights, because a string I had had for about 4 years finally burned out on me. I put them up, and within a week and a half a portion of these lights had already burned out! It was very disappointing, and because the boxes were thrown away I was unable to return them. Very disappointed, as it seemed that since they were a little pricey that they were very cheaply made. :-(

Ordered these for my Autistic son for Xmas. He sleeps on the bottom bunk so we weaved them in and out of the upper bunk's lats and he LOVES it!! It makes a really cool effect and a "night-light" without making them feel like they have a night light. The lights do not get hot which made our setup really fun and cool.
