StarMark Pro-Training Dog Collar (Large Pack of 2)

I have trained close to 4,000 (yes four thousand) dogs using this collar (and the small size as well). When used properly it is the absolute best tool for calming down hyper dogs. Unfortunately almost no one - including most dog trainers - know how to use it property. I have never had it hurt or injure a dog. It should fit loosely but not so loose that the two plastic pieces on the rope touch when full pressure is applied. To calm a hyper dog lift and hold pressure so that he weight of the front is applied. The dog's front paws should lift off the floor slightly. The dog will probably throw a bit of a fit. The collar does not choke! The dog can breathe. After 10 - 60 seconds the dog will sit. (Do not say sit, just hold pressure until he does it on his own.) Then release the pressure completely and pet the dog. The dog will then get up - repeat the pressure until he sits again. Then release pressure and pet. Do this process 3-5 times. Generally by time 4 the dog will stay seated and be 5x calmer than he was 5 minutes before. NOW you can start doing command based training. The dog should wear the collar and a short leash around the house for 2-8 weeks. When he refuses to listen apply calm, quiet pressure until he does. DO NOT USE ON Chows, Doberman Pinchers at all, and any handler aggressive dog without professional support and proper safety protocols. But as long as your dog won't bite it, it's fine. Do not use it without professional support on dogs less than 16 weeks old. Their mentality is too twitchy. Works on biting lab puppies, all doodles and terrier types best. Doesn't work as well on dogs with thick neck pads like Rotweillers and Bulldogs. But you can try. (Now there will be 2 dozen "trainers" who will chime in and say I'm wrong.) I have trained close to 4,000 dogs with this collar. If it's getting control or getting rid of the dog, use this collar to get control. Stops barking, play biting and hyperactivity primarily. It works based on Carotid Massage (Carotid Nerve, not Artery). Ask 1000 dog trainers what that is and they will all look at you like you're stupid. Ask any doctor or EMT and they will say Carotid massage activates the para-sympathetic nervous system and releases chemistry that counteracts adrenaline.

This is the second StarMark that I have purchased and it works as well as the previous one. I use it on my 75lb lab x pointer. He is responsive to it and it is only used when I walk him. He is trained and does very well off leash, he just pulls a bit too much and does not respond at all to correction on other colars.I used one when I was training him with commands for the same reason. It is a great teaching tool for hardheaded or bossy dogs who simply say “go F yourself” to most collars.

This collar is a great training tool, and is much less invasive than your typical metal prong collar. It is just as effective as a metal prong, and also is less visible to those who like to judge others for their training tool choices. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who's dog is pulling on leash or has behavioral problems.***Just be sure that when you use it, you make sure it is tight enough to stay right up on the top of their neck behind their ears for the most control, effectiveness and least amount of pressure on the trachea.

Ok so just received this and was very disappointed by sizing. I got the large and ordered the extra 3 link package and it still won't fit my 6 mths 90 lbs Presa pup. I get that I have a large dog but it's a large and unordered extra links. I am going to buy yet another extra 3 link package but it's an Amazon add on item so I have to order $25 worth of other things just to be able to pay for the extra links and have them shipped .... Very disappointing.Amended tried to return item and it's not eligible for return ... Terrible waste of money.

This collar is amazing. I have a 2 year old Vislador who we rescued 3 months ago. She likes to walk me and was dragging me around the neighbourhood mercilessly until I got this plastic pinch collar. It is highly effective and seems less dangerous to other dogs than the steel prong collars. This only becomes an issue if you let your dog play with other dogs while wearing a pinch collar. My dog no longer pulls on her leash while walking me and the collar doesn't bother her..
