Good replacement for 25 year old Rheem air handler fan motor
I knew the day would come soon when my 25 year old Rheem air handle motor would die. I got an early warning from a change in its sound as a bearing began to wobble. I needed to find a 1/8 HP motor of a certain size, 825 RPM, and CW rotation facing the shaft. The Ruud 51-21853-01 was close enough with a bit more HP at 1/6, and more RPM at 1075. Changing a fan motor is easy in that the squirrel cage fan box slides right out like a drawer after two little screws are removed. I noted all the electrical connections and photo'd them with my phone. And change the capacitor also; this motor came with one. It is a single-speed motor so the wiring is simple. There is a wiring diagram on the motor body shell. An existing collar held the old motor. I made sure the new motor was 5.6 inches in diameter, and the shaft was about 4 inches long and 1/2-inch in diameter. The mechanical attachments were simple to manage if you have an eye for detail. I had no real trouble with the wiring and the capacitor replacement. From removal to turning the power back on was two hours. Last, this replacement motor is for a condenser fan, but that is okay since it is in a gentler environment indoors than the outdoors it was designed for. You just cannot put an open, vented fan motor outside in a condenser unit. The new motor is noticeably louder but I like the sound of its whooshing. Some may not like the higher speed for heating because it is sensed as a draft, but people love air movement during cooling. I feel I made a wise choice with this replacement Ruud motor. Measure your old motor thoroughly and photo its label before you begin your ordering research. I noted the price went up $30 since I bought it in January. I must have caused it.

Good fit
The fan motor fit perfectly after a minor modification of shortening the four screws that bind the body togathrr. Used a cut off tool to do that. After which the motor aligned perfectly with the present drilled mounting screws and laying the wiring harness in the original trace.

Perfect replacement for fan motor on my RUUD AC
Perfect replacement for fan motor on my RUUD AC. I was happy to find a replacement for my almost 30 yr old unit. Fast delivery, 5 days. Price was so much lower than local companies, plus my son, HVAC tech installed for me. As stated in other reviews, screws had to be shortened, but it was no issue. Thank you Century and Amazon!

I have no motor for my AC.
It stopped working after 3 week. I'm so mad it's like I threw my money away. Now i have a motor that doesn't work. No AC for the rest of the Summer. I'm on SSI and takes me a while to get the money up.

Excellent condition!
Motor in excellent condition and installed with no problem in my 1.5 ton RUUD AC condenser. Just needed 4 lock nut bolts to attach to the grill. (I bought the same motor from another company here on amazon and it arrived with a stuck shaft! This one spinned freely, installed quick and AC is nice and cool.
