Great look
No complaints. These cords could always be more supple... kinks can need some TLC before they smooth out but otherwise the texture of the fabric makes for a very sophisticated look for a unique light piece or even a bare bulb I'd imagine.

Make a fun reading lamp!
I bought this for my son's room to make him a swag lamp. I had every intention of being a great dad and doing that crafty thing where you make a lampshade by running 9 miles of yarn through diluted wallpaper paste as you're wrapping it around a large balloon (something heavy like a punching ball type thing with the rubber band *wap wap wap wap wap*). Once it dries, you pop the balloon and the yarn is petrified into the sphere shape -- you just attach it to the light base with the nut that's included and voila! A cool string sphere lamp shade!Well, a funny thing happened. As I finished the string-covered, glue-soaked balloon to let it dry overnight, the balloon popped and two hours was shot as I sadly looked at the soppy mess of wet yarn in the floor. After a few choice words, I chucked it all in the bin and went on with life.Later, I was looking through his book case for old stuff to donate to make room for new Christmas books/games. I saw his long-abandoned cardboard Minecraft Creeper head on top of the book shelf. BOOM! New plan! I traced the inside of the light's screw-on nut in the center of the top, cut out the hole, fed the nut through the inside of the head to hold it on and hung it over his reading chair. I used a 60W equivalent globe LED bulb that I knew doesn't generate much heat so the head won't burst into flames. He LOVES it!As the other reviewers have remarked, this has no in-line switch, but I just put it on a countdown timer so he can just reach beside the chair, hit the top of the switch and it stays on for an hour. Problem solved.

Sturdy, handsome fabric-covered cord
After seeing pendant cords like this in home décor magazines I finally caved, and couldn't be more thrilled. This cord is made well—thick, attractive, with a handsome finish and sheen. One caveat: it holds the folds it came in after two weeks hanging from the ceiling, so if you prefer a straight drop to a kinked cord you may need to straighten it by hand. Another: the swag hooks it comes packaged with are good for cord management but may not be sturdy enough to hold the cord to your ceiling, depending on the weight of your shade and how much cord you have dangling down.

Easy install
I took an old desk globe, made it into a hanging light pendant. The cord was easy to install and it added the right flare to the light.

Looks great with IKEA shade.
I like the look of this cord much more than the plain plastic ones. I was surprised to see that it doesn’t have a switch but I purchased a remote that gets plugged in between the cord and the wall outlet. Probably looks better that way anyway.

Good product -- screws a little small.
We used this with an Ikea shade to create an overhead light in our overhead-light-less bedroom. Attaching the shade was really easy. The screws are small, but there was some type of stud on the ceiling that we drilled into. If I were mounting into drywall, I would buy larger screws and drywall mounts for security.

nice look. picked up an industrial cage for the light bulb, from a local home depot. screwed on perfectly to the thread at the end of the light socket fixture. only small complaint keeping it from a 5 star, is its a plastic socket.

It's a nice cord, and does the job
It's a nice cord, and does the job, but really would have liked for it to have an on off switch too. I have to plug and unplug it. My own fault, just assumed it did after having looked at so many others before I bought this one. But it was good value anyway.
