Better than I expected with many practical features
This review is for the 8 inch GearWrench slip joint pliers. I purchased the GW Slip Joint pliers because I liked the 1.) Plastic grips, 2.) Pivot is flush on both sides, 3.) Non marking grip (half circle on the handles), 4.) Holes in the ends of the handle for a tether, and 5) Price. The black coating on the pliers seems to be a common finish on low priced tools and the black finish does make these pliers look cheap. The feature I did not expect was the interlocking cross hatching on the ends of the pliers. All my other slip joint pliers just have a few horizontal ridges on the end of the pliers. These pliers have cross hatched teeth. The pliers have pyramid teeth which interlock, see the last two photographs above. The interlocking teeth make it possible to grab and hold on to very thin parts. The question is how long will the teeth hold up. This a great plier for a low price. This plier is a product of Vietnam and is finished in Mainland China

Good first impression
I haven't had a chance to actually use these yet, so these are just some first impressions:I chose this slip joint plier mainly because of the "flush rivet" joint and the good reviews here (including those that mention the "soft" pliers that are part of the molded handle). I'm hoping the flush rivet joint will not be subject to the loosening that I occasionally encounter on pliers with a simple screw style joint. Hopefully the rivet joint will hold up. The tool feels solid and the end of the jaws have a cross-hatch surface that seems like will really bite into material for a good grip.I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 stars because I haven't had a real opportunity to use the tool yet - I'm guessing it'll move to 5 after I've put some miles on it. In all honesty, I probably won't think to update the review (on the other hand, if it breaks... I'll be back).I selected these pliers over the similarly priced ($15 or so at HD) DEWALT 8" Flush Rivet Slip Joint Pliers, but I'm sure I'd be happy with either one.For those where country of origin matters, the packaging says:Test, Designed, Engineered in the USAProduct of VietnamFinished in Mainland ChinaI'm not sure what part of manufacturing belongs in the "product of" category and what belongs in "finishing".The package states it has a Lifetime Warranty.

Feels good in my hand
They seem to be pretty nice. There’s a little bit of side to side movement to them but they should work fine on light jobs.

Amazing Pliers
Strong durable and are surprisingly light for 8-in pliers. Would definitely recommend these to anyone who carries pliers in there pocket daily

My favorite pliers period.
These are the best pliers I've ever used. Hands down. I'm 57 and I've used alot. I like DIY. These pliers allows for a comfortable stronger grip. It will mar nut with no damage at all to the pliers. The grip on a nut is by far the strongest I've ever seen. No slippage at all. I highly recommend !!!! Only pliers I will buy again.

Go to slip joints
You know what, I didn't know what to expect, except that I needed a pair of slip joints with cross hatched teeth rather than straight cut ones. These don't feel "heavy duty" by any means, but they are lightweight and don't feel like theyre going to brake or anything. The grip on the teeth is phenomenal. A solid 4 stars

Handle cover slips off after couple months light use
Plier works well but rubber on handle doesn’t stay on light use.
