Game Changer
NOTE: Review NOT for the pro players but to entry level enthusiasts who are exploring new tones.I've been self taugh for some time and decided to start exploring on effects and pedals, currently I'm using a very simple "rig" using Tonebridge and some boss wireless pedals (FS-1-WL) with extra (FS-6) to allow changing presets in the app and somehow start experimenting a live set. Sound was pretty good but not quite there, I have a very good ear but not enough money or expertise to buy tons of pedals and make it sound like the original track. My epiphone Slash sounds decent but with a muddy sound sometimes, of course being a noob I though it was my fault (partially) so to this point the overall sound was not as exciting as expected. As I mentioned I did somewhat of a amateur pedalboard and had a empty slot, after some research about sound and tones I found this gem... enter the Boss EQ-200. I'm writing this because after a few tweaks I played Black from Pearl Jam and it actually sounded like part of the track, mindblown! So few notes for my fellow guitar starters:* It is very expensive, yes. But take it from me, I bought gear from another brand and put it away after 30 minutes. This will not be a magic bullet, to need to know a thing or 2.* It drastically changes the sound for the good, but then again you need to tune it.* The new sounds are so good you will want to practice more and more.

Heavy Duty
This unit seems to be very well constructed so I anticipate many years of use. It provides me with the ability to fine tune my sound befitting the genre of music that I am performing. I also, frequently, use it as a boost pedal for solos.

An Underrated MVP
Personally I don't think Boss pedals in general get enough credit in the modern day where we're spoiled with tons of companies putting out so many awesome pedals, however one pedal that stays in any rig I've used for the last ten years has had two of these pedals in it, one in front of my overdrive and one in the fx loop. For anyone just starting out, I know that reverb, and chorus, wah pedals are all alot more exciting on the surface, but these can really tighten up your tone and do wonders for helping you get the sound in your head. Whats more is the new models seem to have corrected the noise issue that the ones I had about ten years ago so no modding necessary to make it sound it's best. You'll never regret one of these.
