Great for metal finishing.
A very fine grit gives a nice brushed appearance to metal. I lubricate with oil (any kind will do really) to keep it from loading up with soft metals. It is also a good intermediate step to achieve a high polish. I use it to finish RC boat props and it is perfect for this task.
