Very helpful
As I've been recently shopping on Amazon for knitting books to add to my library, I've noticed some folks definitely have favorite authors. I understand in some cases, someone has patterns you especially like, or gives directions you understand better than another. This is my first book of Kate Atherley's. I received the book today, and believe it will prove very helpful as I try to improve skills and learn new ones. Currently, my library consists of either very beginner knitting books or more advanced patterns (that I am striving to be able to do). I don't have books to help transition from beginner to more advanced. I think this book I think will help bridge the gap in my collection. The chapters cover various topics like knitting in the round (supplementing my beginner books), and gives patterns to practice what's covered in the chapter. It's geared more to a beginner in my opinion, but I think it will be very handy also for more experienced knitters who perhaps don't use a particular technique often. My only complaint is that I'd like the book to feel a little more substantial, meaning I'd like the pages to be of a better quality. I think I'll refer to it often, and would like to be sure the pages will handle the use.

She is an excellent teacher, full of enthusiasm for her craft
I had the pleasure of taking a knitting class this summer taught by Ms. Atherley. She is an excellent teacher, full of enthusiasm for her craft, and very generous in sharing her hits and tips. The next day I ordered her books and am not disappointed. All the info she shared in class is in this book-lots of hits and shortcuts, etc. Her approach to knitting seems to be 'it is not a task to create a finished product, but the joy of the process to make a unique item'. I agree. While I would not use this book as a basic reference for a new knitter, it is a wonderful supplement to add to a knitter's skills.

and some really useful patterns as well
Fabulous reference on all stitches, including the less common ones, and some really useful patterns as well. Highly recommend as a great book that all knitters should have in their library.

Really, really great knitting book
This book gets five stars for its content, it's well written and approachable.Unfortunately, it seems to have had its layout done by an amateur. I really really hate it, to the point where I looked to see if I could get a pdf so I could redo the layout in Word. Also, the paper quality is barely adequate.

eh eh bien
pas très intéressant, chaque fois que je cherche quelque chose, je ne trouve que du blala, rien d'expliqué, ou pas clair du tout. livre cher qui ne me sert à rien. optez plutôt pour "principales of knitting" vous ne serez pas déçu.
